Think Zanz would ever consider open sourcing the game?  or do you think this would even be a good idea?

well think it be a good idea since zanz is in hybernation it is moving to nslow. Better though to have a team work on it that zanz would be ok with. No payments since it is a free game.

I doubt it could ever be "open source" as it relies on a central database to store decks.

I do hope he allows an assistant or alternative delveloper some time soon.
