A larger deck means a lower chance of getting spins.  It's not 5% though.

As a poker player I can tell you that good and bad luck can go on for 10 hours a day for a week non-stop.  I see more extreme up swings and extreme down swings than I do flat typical coin toss streaks.

You might make your straight by the river 20 times in a row (I've seen it).  But in a thousand attempts to do so I will rob you blind.  The right probabilities always catch up with you in time.

Yesterday against the FGs I had two wins result in 3 spins matching for a total of 6 cards in two wins.  Today I might win 50 times and get nothing.  So far I am on par to do so......
Ah, but just the fact that you can win 50 times in one day is the problem.  The way coin toss' and initial draws are going today...I'm on par to lose 50 straight w/o ever getting to actually enjoy playing the effing game.  Sure they're false gods and the get to draw extra cards and have extra quanta from their marks.  But do they also get to cheat us by screwing our initial draw and winning the coin toss?

They aren't cheating, they aren't screwing our initial draw, or messing with the coin toss. It's based on the random programming the game has. You are having a terrible time? try a hard refresh ctrl+f5. if that doesn't help, stop playing for a little while so you can cool down. losing streaks happen just as much as winning streaks happen. I've been on a bit of a losing streak lately. So i keep tweaking my deck in hopes that i will find a decent combination that will give me some better chances.

I lost count of how many games I have lost to the false gods, but I'm sure it's well over 2,000. It happens.

There is a thread (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,778.0.html) in "Report a Bug" about the random number generation. If I recall correctly the spin did use a somewhat faulty random number generation tied to your session. That would explain the streaks - good or bad.
You recall incorrectly, the spinners use the good enough built in rng. The quanta issue could be caused by the "somewhat faulty (http://xkcd.com/221/)"* rng though.
There's a slight issue with the implementation of the shuffling algorithm as well, but that shouldn't be very noticeable.

* no, it's not quite that bad, but it's not far off.

Totally right, need time to cool down.  After building up to be able to build any deck here...shouldn't be one click away from resetting and quitting.

I'm just not one who likes losing in woefully over-matched battles.  I don't mind losing if it was actually a challenge, but not getting a chance in ANY draws against an FG all day...very frustrating.  Especially after not being able to remember the last time I lost to AI5.

Am I right in stating that the MOST important aspect in a game against the FG's is the opening draw?  (assuming you're playing w/ one of the highly discussed FG killer decks)

You said it.  The gap between AI5 and False Gods is still huge -- but then, so is the gap between AI3 and AI5, so maybe that's OK.

That's correct.
