Cool concept.  I was thinking earlier how much things would change if we used MtG tournament rules: only 4 of the same cards (except pillar cards) and a 60 card deck minimum.  That would definitely change up deck building strategies.

Why couldn't we just take as many Towers as we want? Idea would be the same but only without insane quantum problems. This way you could also play duo or trio decks.
I like this idea too.  If you wanted to cap the pillars, then maybe a 4-5 card limit for pillars.  I think it would introduce more 3-5 element decks.  Like SG said, it'd be less random while still avoiding building a deck around a single strategy.

Interesting idea but with a minimum deck size of 30, there wouldn't be nearly enough quantum production. It would be WAY too luck dependent.

Only option would be to build a rainbow deck like this one:

12 x Towers (one of each element + quantum tower)
1 x Supernova
1 x Immolate
16 x cheap cards from all elements

And the guy who gets the better draw wins every time.

Dude I totally dig that Idea. That would be really challenging and involve a lot of strategy.

Neat idea. Would an upgraded and unupgraded version of a card count as two different cards, or is that not allowed? >.<"

And only one pillar per turn? XD

All sweet ideas.  A larger cap on the number of pillars is a great idea to allow for trio and quad color decks.  Did you know that there are 3 326 400 possible quad-color decks combination?!

Just to keep things interesting you could try this new format.

Singleton rules: One of each card max, including towers and pillars.

Games will be only a tiny fraction as predictable as they are now.  If you see me on chat, ask me for a singleton game.  Or anyone else if you like.

No, I didn't know that, and I'm not sure I believe you. I'm not sure what you mean either though.
There's 495 different 4-of-12-colour combinations. The number of different 4-colour decks you could build with singleton rules (allowing multiple pillars) is in the order of 1012 (assuming about 15 non-pillars).
Sorry, shouldn't derail yet another thread with maths... back on topic.

If you want more few-colour decks, how about allowing multiples of the twelve 'basic' pillars, but still restricting QPs?
On the issue of upgrades, sticking to non-upgraded cards will give those who haven't framed for 1+ of every card equal opportunity.

Without doing the math, I would say that's only possible if you count the order of the colors as different decks. As in time-earth and earth-time would be a different combination.

Crap you're right.  I counted permutations instead of combinations.  So I had 8! times as many >.<
