Of course. But you forgot to mention the chat aspect.

Either way, don't we want the vast majority of people to stay? Many newer players in the forum right now will become vets one day.

Agreed.
Maybe he was different before I came to chat. In my eyes, he seemed to mostly be a quiet person in that channel when I was there (though friendly once known).

Rather than this spiral into forum members hate for a member who went inactive, why can't we stay on the positive side of it all?

We ARE all appreciated here, someone cares for each post. Even the smallest deck tips to a newbie or pointing someone in the right direction, even tossing a hello in the welcome section. People here have the capability to do wonderful, amazing things for eachother as a community, especially when not plagued with pessimism and cynicism. It's one of the reasons I stay here.

Really, Furballdn and Max are gone I remember their posts fondly from my last iteration around.  However, this is nothing new, I've seen so many people get frustrated with either the game or the community. I've left this game 3 times now.  I keep changing my user name; but, I come back each update to see if things have improved; I keep hoping for this game and its' community.  The amount of time I've spent on it seems that it's worth the investment to check on it.  This is probably the longest I've stayed playing the game which speaks well of it's current game state.  However, the community is the least supportive I've seen in a long time.  Few people are testing and commenting on decks.  Most speak negatively before even trying them out.  Finally, look at how quickly this post about supporting each other turned into bashing on a user.  So we might want to look at each other and ourselves and give up a little bit of our grind time and instead chat or post and try out each other's decks a little more.

One thing I do well is helping newbs into the game. I've been linking Absol's Speedrunning Elements guide time and time again. I've helped multiple players and guided them through each step, either verbally saying each step, or by just linking them to the guide if I don't have the time to verbally guide them through it all. While I do help these players, I also put them up to the same standards as everyone else. Most people here do/did the same for Max. That is part of why he left. He didn't meet our standards and he understood that. May he return when he feels that he has met our standards.
