Most Versatile (Unupped) Cards in Elements the Game for PVP events https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=61980.msg1233556#msg1233556

So in your opinion what is the most versatile cards in elements the game for PvP?
What I mean by that is no necessarily cards that can be used in any deck but cards that are useful in most likely PvP situations.
Also I am not saying a card is good because it is more versatile. Speed and other factors should be considered to decide how good a card is.
This is just to ask you all what you think the most versatile cards for PvP is.
For example
Spoiler for Hidden:
Photon "can" be used any time but not necessarily useful. Usually used for immo rush as sacrifice.
However a card like shock-wave can be used on monsters or to damage an opponent. It also has potential to destroy a weapon.
Then a card like Lightning which is similar but does more damage but does not have the potential to destroy a weapon.
However the basic unupped dragon can usually be killed with lightning while shock-wave can not unless it took prior damage.

So while it is not measuring the power of a card to determine how versatile it is, if that power makes it significantly more useful like Shock-wave vs Lightning than one could argue that it creates versatility by having more power as it will be more useful in more situations. However that is not always the case, sometimes power does not create versatility.
For Example of power not creating versatility
Spoiler for Hidden:
Azure Dragon has 9 attack and 6 HP vs Crimson Dragon with 12 attack and 3 HP. The only thing the extra attack Crimson Dragon possesses will do is kill the opponent faster but speed and versatility are 2 different things. In fact the extra HP of Azure Dragon makes it much harder to kill with Creature Control and thus more useful in more situations.
Another example of comparing Creature Control versatility would be
Spoiler for Hidden:
Basilisk Blood vs Gravity Pull is interesting because neither one depends on power and both can be used in many ways. Both have the same cost as well. Basilisk Blood will stop a creature for 6 full turns or be used to buff a creatures HP you are being stalled and you don't want your creature to die while they play wings or something, in addition it can be used with Gravity Pull and many other things to get many different results. Gravity Pull can be used on your creature to stall and not take HP damage or on their creature in order to kill it by making your creatures attack it. It can also be mixed with a lot of cards to get a lot of different effects. Honestly this is card to compare because they have so many potential uses it really depends on what you think you will be up against.

So I would like to split this topic into a few sections.
What do you think is the most versatile card of each element?
What do you think is the most versatile card of each type? ( Like creature, permanent, spell, creature control, ect.. )

Versatility is the ability to fit into the most amount of decks. The power of the card should count into this as well since it's useless to state which card is the most versatile if it's not strong enough to have a use.

Nova enables all kinds of decks that should not be possible.
Arsenic is a win condition for 2 quanta. Yeah.
SoFo might be the single best control card in the game and works in any Gravy deck. The limitation is the cost, but a plus is that you can build a deck around it. Fire Eater fits into more rainbow types, but only one elemental duo.
Graboid is the best unupped attacker because it's far too cheap. Cheapness = fits into more decks.
Forest Spirit is a win condition for admittedly more quanta than Arse, but it's still very cheap.
Deflag fits into all deck types. Bolt is only more versatile in a mono and some duos.
Chrysaora is a win condition for dirt cheap. Toadie is only more versatile in a mono and some deck types. Same goes for Steamie with the addition of being great in upped rainbows.
Sanctuary makes a stall out of any deck with CC. Blessing works in any creature deck, but it's weak.
Fog Shield. +40% HP for 2 quanta.
Hourglass fits into all rainbow and duo stalls. RT fits into most domination duos, however it depends on your opponent relying on creatures.
Steal fits into all deck types.
Lightning is the best unupped CC unless you're going specific monos. Fractal and Dims both create their own deck types and duos with every single element, yet they don't fit into fast rainbows.

Competing for creatures we have SoFo, Graboid, Spirit and Chrysaora. My vote goes to SoFo because it has numerous combos while the other cards have none. When it comes to power, we might have a different winner.
For permanents we have Arsenic, Sanctuary, Fog Shield, Hourglass and potentially Dim Shield. Sanctuary, Hourglass and Dims combo the most with other cards. Dims appear to be used the most in restricted formats, but unrestricted it's probably a lot closer between Sanc and Dims.
Fractal gets my vote for the ambiguous "spells" category since it's not CC yet enables one deck for each creature in the game, many of them strong decks. Miracle is strong but requires heavy investment into something that is only a supplement to the more powerful type of healing: the continuous variant. SoBe is both strong and cheap, yet doesn't work in many decks, or works against you.
Most versatile CC is Lightning when you're considering standalone CC spells. In terms of usage options and power, Fire Bolt edges out, but that requires an investment.

I'll pick one for each element

:entropy : Nova.  It just fits in so many decks, and makes a number of decks possible that wouldn't otherwise be.  (discord is a very strong runner up)
:death :  Bone wall.  It's really strong, and combos well with creature removal, which is generally something you're using in pvp anyway
:gravity : Probably shard of focus, when shards are allowed.  Gravity is generally pretty poor in pvp.  Shardless, I thnk I'd go with sapphire chargers.
:earth : This is a tough one; there are many strong cards for pvp in earth.  I think I'll go with earthquake, though; it's strong enough in pvp that it gets banned a lot, and an early earthquake can just wreck someone.
:life : Shard of gratitude (for sharded events), and probably horned frog otherwise, just because they're so fast, particularly with fractal.
:fire : Fire's a tough one to pick; fire is a very good pvp element.  I think I'll go with phoenix on this one, though; it's so hard to remove, and hits really hard.  Honourable mentions to firebolt and immolation, though.
:water : Shard of patience for sharded events; the raw power of this card is just insane.  Shardless, I'd pick arctic squid.  If the opponent cannot remove it, a squid can just dominate the entire game.
:light : Miracle.  Oh, you left me at 3hp?  That's fine, I'm at 99 again.  Have fun!
:air : This one's pretty tough, but I'll go with blue nymph.  It's extremely strong, and I've seen tourney rulesets where blue nymph completely dominates, enough that it probably gets more bans than any other nymph in pvp events.   (honourable mention to owl's eye for nymphless events, because it can control a board almost by itself)
:time : Pretty tough call here, but I think I'll go with eternity.  An eternity on the other side of the board completely changes how you play; no longer can you just play one creature a turn, or you'll never draw anything else again.  (honourable mention to hourglass)
:darkness : Tough one here, but I'll go with devourer.  It's a card that often has to be accounted for in pvp events.
:aether : Hmm... I have to pick one of the two big elephants in the room.  I think I'd go with dimensional shield, though.  If the opponent has no way to deal with chained shields, they might as well just go home.  Honourable mention is, of course, fractal.
