Oh, I was just saying I can't believe people were thinking on the same line as me.
Believe me when I say I know about copyrights and all that jazz.

I think the logon screen music is great but something different would be better.  It has a very desolate feel to it and is not open ended enough.  The music should be ethereal and feel like it encompass all the elements in the game.  The key is that it should not lead, or imply any particular feel or theme.
here is something i like, something similar would be nice:
Legend Of Mana (Soundtrack) - World Of Mana (
)
this song minus the birds.  I can actually make something like this.  I make beats (software music) and can produce something similar in feel.

The main navigation screen needs music too.  It should be calming and imply a coming storm.  It should also feel like "prepping" music and sound like you are gathering your forces.  The Navigation music would also be the same as the deck  organizing music. Something like this:
Final Fantasy Tactics OST - Formation Screen (
)
I would make something like this but with a slower tempo.  This one will be fun :)

Pvp music should be non existent at first, but start when certain conditions happen like:
-a creature has over 10 attack  (slow tempo drumline)
-someone has more than 10 creatures (up tempo beat in between previous drums)
-someone's health goes under 50% (bass track added)
-someone's health goes under 20% (violin track)
-BOTH characters health go under 20% (woot! fast paced organs!)
-someone has 5 cards left (i feel some synthesizers are needed.  My fave!  :P)
it should be the same song but gets another instrument added when each new thing happens.
I will work on some stuff tonight after work.  Its fun to have a project.

I love it! Sounds like it'd be a bit of extra coding for that, but i think the effect would be well worth it.

We need a band+ this would definitely keep me from muting the game.
Even though it sounds like hard work, I'm pretty sure we can find people who'll be up for it.

I'm a musician, so I pay attention to that stuff in everything that I do. I kind of like the false god music, but it doesn't really sound like an epic battle with a deity as it does a chase scene through a machine factory. The login music is nice, pleasant, and has a good fundamental sound to it, but to me, the login screen/music should act as a portal to another world: the Elements world. I have been running some ideas around in my head this week and will work on writing some pieces when time allows.

I'm open to any ideas for instrumentation but I need to know what kind of material Zanz can work with. I would hate to present a full-orchestra piece to Zanz only to find that he can't use it.

I like the idea of someone else making music specifically for this game. Just a few more examples, veering away from final fantasy and into fire emblem, since FE is probably one of my favorite video game series :).

http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=BE8D80FD3D9E8B97&page=1 (http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=BE8D80FD3D9E8B97&page=1)

If you want to listen to more music to get ideas if you're going to be making your own music for this game, here's an entire playlist for FE: Radiant Dawn. Number 2 is the main theme for the game and I think something like it (with that attitude) would be pretty good for the main page, and number 16 (March) sounds cool. Maybe something with that sort of attitude could be played during your opponent's turn in pvp.

But all the songs are good, so :).

I don't mind the music much, but the clicks every effing time my pointer happens to come across a button are... well, lets just say the handful of clicks that come before I've managed to mute sound are more than enough.

No vote, as I never hear much of the music anyway.

Yep, that's a pretty cool idea. Awesome actually.

Yes, there should be some kind of "other world" sound to it. That is difficult to achieve with an acoustic guitar :)

I don't know what you mean by what Zanz can and can't use. He can use anything he wants as long as long as legal issues (copyright) are in order and the music actually sounds good.

Elements is programmed with Flash and adding sounds is ridiculously easy.

Well, there are tons of different sound file types and I'm just curious to see what type Zanz prefers or supports. The false god music is just a simple loop played for a set amount of time before it fades out. I'll email him about specifics.

I can answer to that. Wav-file. Zanz can then import that to Flash which converts it automatically to mp3.
