However, I would argue it hurts Fahrenheit even more than Ice Bolt or Drain Life.

just wanna point out, the cap also removed the possibility of 8 dragons in 1 turn  :'( :'( :'(

lol at the alternative choice with Life dragons.

But 8 high-quanta dragons in one turn is still possible, right? With a few viruses and soul catchers, I think it's still possible to dump a full fractalled hand of bone/ivory dragons.

Yes darkness is one of the most 'complete' power decks that can stand alone.

I think the cap was for more than just fire stall, it was for some types of fractals, and yes to weaken darkness.

When I started playing, before I even viewed the forums or wiki and was just figuring out the game, after a trial run at the game I thought darkness was the best starter element and reset, then built my first AI3 grind deck.   I maintained a 100% win rate with this against AI3 with around a 70% EM rate  (knowing what to steal is important as some elements were close games if you started stealing pillars when you should of held for a phase shield, or knowing they didn't have a powerful perm and just steal to add to denial/stall effect:

and I used another mono unupped darkness which at the time had a 50% win rate against AI4 and is what I submitted in the unofficial competition on this forum.

I think that's a bit overpowered, the nerf, has taken about 10% off each of those deck's win rate, to around 90 and 40%, which makes more sense for such cheap decks.
So Firestalls and Darkness...  I've never played much water, but water has a lot of power in it...  but some fractal oriented deck's are also slightly hurt too, as some someone said, gone are 8 dragons at once, a slight shift, but one that at times can mean a win or loss...

So I think it was intended for more than just firestall.

Quanta cap of 75 for all elements now. All it really does is hurt stalls, bolts, and fractals. On the other hand, it makes Decay laughable.

I'm tired of seeing people say the quanta cap nerfed Firestall.

The quanta cap hardly hurt Firestall, which almost never needs more than 75 Fire quanta to win. Firestall's easiest win condition is usually deckout, and even when deckout is not an option, Firestall can still usually kill without more than 75 Fire quanta. The quanta cap was likely even beneficial to Firestall because it weakened some of its counters, Fractal Dragon OTK and Mono Fire/Water/Darkness rushes with Bolts. Firestall is just as OP as before, and probably stronger with the Phoenix nerf.
Somehow still around, somewhat

Good point,  I agree it does hurt it's easiest counters as much or more making firestall come out about the same in the end against pvp and lesser arena leagues if not ahead...

However, it still stands that it hurts against the false gods and many platinum arena decks...  No more building up to 200 damage firebolts...  max is 144 now.

So the non-upgraded FG farmer here:
http://elementscommunity.org/wiki/decks/duo-and-trio-decks/deck_aether-fire/
Is no longer viable...

on the 8 dragon-1 turn,  *clarifies* you can't spam mono-8-dragons using only fractal and said dragon.. (and to those thinking about SN + :rainbow dragons, >.>)
