Saving up electrum for the next patch and was just wondering what the max was. The trainer does not allow you to have more then 99,999 so i was wondering if this was the same in game.

No, you can have as much electrum as you want. I currently have over 100,000, so it is definitely possible.

Not strictly true. The limit IS over 9,000 because you can get more than 9,000 electrum.

Nor is mine. I clicked on the secret pixel on the devonian dragon.
How to:
Keep clicking on the devonian dragon in the bazaar. If you get lucky and click on the EXACT pixel, you automatically get 1,000,000 electrum. Note that you MUST have the electrum to actually buy the dragon.

Can you think of a complex equation that describes the amount of electrums you gain as a function of time? Consider factors such as spins, masteries, cards won, changing decks, upgrading cards, etc.
