Canadian medals r shinyer ^^, 14 gold  :time (highest to date). HF with your silver  :light and bronze  :earth
If you count gold as 3 points, silver as 2 points, and bronze as 1 point, USA has 70 points. Canada has 61.

Poor Canada :). At least you TRIED to own the podium.
That's a lame way of counting the score. Gold should always score more than 1 silver and 1 bronze.

I would score it gold 4, silver 2, bronze 1.

Actually, I would say getting both bronze and a silver IS as good as a gold.

But even with gold=4, Canada = 75, USA = 79. GG, Canada :).

I like the idea, but may I inject a bit of practicality?

How on earth will we reconcile the time zone differences.  The window of overlap would be rather small.

My thoughts exactly. An informal world tourney would be funny also, but largely not too effective in the long run due to this. Playing someone in GMT-8 when I'm GMT+8 is hard.

Yeah but Canada`s population is lower than that of the state of California. I would like to see California by itself take on the rest of America.

Because the Olympics were IN Canada? If they were in the United States, Canada would get about 1 gold medal. USA all the way.

Puppychow why can't you just give Canada credit?  They did do better in my books.  If I were an athlete in the Olympics I would trade a couple silvers for a gold any day.  "I got 2nd place." doesn't have the same ring as "I was the best."  Course that might just be my competitive side showing.   I also think this tournament would be excellent.
