@ElementalGod
No need to go all crazy and take everything so personally.
Sorry if I sounded condescending, that was not intended. I have strong opinions and english is not my first language so maybe what I'm trying to say comes of as something else.
I never said anything like "Well why don't you do it better?" so trying to imply that I'm childish or something is way out of line.
What you seem to be saying is that you angry because ArenaNet didn't listen some "important" players in GW community. All I can say about that is lol.
What I've seen is that MMO players like to whine a lot. It's a lose-lose situation to MMO developers because whatever you do, half the players are going to whine and cry. This has always happened and will always happen.
I'm not saying you need to be a game developer to be able to critize a game. But I am saying that if you do not understand how game programming works, how can you critize developers about that? What might seem like an easy fix to you and me, might be were difficult to do without breaking something else. Also people have to understand that MMO's are a BUSINESS and sometimes you need to make decisions based on business standpoint, not because some guild leader complains about it on a guild forum.
I played GW for about 2 years almost daily. I was in close contact with 100+ plus top level PvP players and I can honestly say I didn't hear any big complaints from them. Sure sometimes there were some annoying broken builds but those were fixed very quickly, and everyone knew it, so it wasn't a big problem. I have personally seen an exploit fixed in less than 2 hours, something I have never seen in an MMO before or after.
"majority of players left in disgust before the year 2009"?
The fact is that according to Xfire, GW is still the number two MMO after WoW. Sure a lot of people (like myself) have left but this is probably more due to the fact that GW is getting old, there won't be any new updates and people just get bored. Even the best games out there cannot hold your interest for decades.
This whole argument is totally useless because you talk about the past and I talk about the present. I still play GW from time to time and it always amazes me how polished and balanced it is.
