3 Planes
Material: XY plane  :fire [-1,-1,0], :earth [-1,1,0], :water [1,1,0], :air [1,-1,0] at the corners of a square
Spiritual: XZ plane  :darkness [-1,0,-1], :death [-1,0,1], :light [1,0,1], :life [1,0,-1] at the corners of another square
Cardinal: YZ plane  :aether [0,-1,-1], :entropy [0,-1,1], :time [0,1,1], :gravity [0,1,-1] at the corners of a third square
Using this model, there is space for 27+1 principles:

Group 1: ORIGIN (point)

1: Origin [0,0,0]

Group 2: STRUCTURE (linear)

2: [1,0,0]
3: [0,1,0]
4: [0,0,1]
5: [-1,0,0]
6: [0,-1,0]
7: [0,0,-1]

Group 3: ELEMENTS (planar)

8:  :water[1,1,0]
9:  :light[1,0,1]
10:  :air[1,-1,0]
11:  :life[1,0,-1]
12:  :gravity[0,1,-1]
13:  :entropy[0,-1,1]
14:  :time[0,1,1]
15:  :aether[0,-1,-1]
16:  :earth[-1,1,0]
17:  :death[-1,0,1]
18:  :fire[-1,-1,0]
19:  :darkness[-1,0,-1]

Group 4: COMPOUNDS (solid)

20: [1,1,1]
21: [1,1,-1]
22: [1,-1,1]
23: [1,-1,-1]
24: [-1,1,1]
25: [-1,1,-1]
26: [-1,-1,1]
27: [-1,-1,-1]

Group 5: NEGATION

28: End [0,0,0]

First of all I keep seeing the word spiritual and i have no idea what it means, from what i gather it is simply the elements that are immaterial.
Second of all
Things that will always exist or likely always exist:
:time :darkness :gravity  :light  :entropy  :water (it's the second most common compound in the world meaning that it will likely always exist)
Things that are finite or don't exist:
:air  :death  :life  :fire  :earth  :aether (depends on what type of aether we're talking about)
Also, after there are a few more suggestions someone should try to make a chart like the one krathos posted except that it includes all the suggestions made in this thread

Uh... Look it up on a dictionary? :P

No comments on my Metagroups and Archetypes?

I tried to arrange the elements into a cube, and have groupings for all the midpoints, vertices, and faces of the cube. Sadly, that's just too much stuff to figure out, and it's literally impossible to make a perfect geometric grouping that is also logically consistent in the real world.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

well obviously i have, id really like to see how any of these definitions make sense in the sense that most people use it and in the sense that people have been using it in this forum
http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/spiritual
in fact i don't think I have ever heard a coherent definition of spiritual that isn't related to the brain

I named the :light :darkness :life :death metagroup Spiritual because the four elements govern the biology of living creatures (good and evil of the mind, growth and decay of the body). Living creatures are the only ones that have spirits, thus the name Spiritual. Also, those four elements can represent various spiritual realms (:light heaven, :darkness hell, :life fairyland, and :death underworld).

Wait you believe in spirits? the guy who is so repulsed by faith, the acceptance of something without faith, has faith in something (unless you think there is evidence for spirits)

No, I do not believe in spirits. Elements is a fantasy setting, which is not the real world. Spirits do not exist in the real world.
