Question about the trainer https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=30880.msg392501#msg392501
« on: September 12, 2011, 10:19:46 am »
I spent all weekend developing a deck that would win 80% of the time against level 5 in the trainer.  It worked.  I spent nearly 2K building my deck and it has lost ~ 98% of the time against level 5, 80% of the time against level 4, and 60% against level three.  Is the trainer AI so weak that one can't actually use it to test decks?

It very frustrating to get a deck together, have it win there, and then discover that at best, its a middling level 3. Especially as I spent nearly have of my cash reserves on it.

AI5? False Gods? 80% winrate?

The Trainer AI is the same as the in-game AI.

Remember that there are 29 false gods, and to have roughly decent winrate stats you should have about 200 matches against them.
So winning a few games against them in trainer doesn't mean your deck have 80% winrate.

Also, the Trainer's AI may be slightly different from the actual game's AI since there have been a few bug fixes and the trainer is some versions behind the actual game.

Trainer AI should play roughly the same way as the live game AI.

Also,

Trainer AI5 = Live game AI4 = Half-Bloods
Trainer AI6 = Live game AI5 = False Gods

Thanks that helps.  I was winning repeatedly, so to get completely slaughtered was frustrating.

Would anyone offer suggestions on these two variants?
Version 1: 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 622 622 622 622 622 622 8p

Version 2: 576 576 576 576 576 5c6 5c6 5c6 5c6 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rg 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 5rq 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61o 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 61t 622 622 622 8pn

They are aether/time decks and while it is loads of fun to have 23 scarabs on the board, I am having trouble getting it moving and defending. I'm either drowning in pillars or can't get a single pillar on the table.  The level 4 and up seem seem to have critters on the table very quickly even though they have huge decks.  The larger the deck, the less likely I am to get what I need on the table.
