In general, you can't find the "real" Elements until you sign up here in the forums. This is where you get all your info, advice, etc.
Then Zanz needs to put the link to the forums on the main site, and surround it with flashing lights.

I played tyrant on Kongregate for a while, and ive played Elements, and other ones, and ive kept Elements as one of the best for now. Ive thinking about all of your reasons, and i think you are basically right.

I gave both games 5 stars at Kongregate, but ill lower my rating for Tyrant. I became sick of all those pay-to-win mechanics, so count me as a success in your call.

I won't rate Elements on kong since my 4 would just bring it down.  Maybe i'll give it a 5 after some of the kinks are worked out.  I will slap Tyrant with a 1 tough

I played tyrant for about 1 min after reading this.

My eyes are still recovering.

Rated Tyrant a 1, and elements 5. :P

I searched through the Elements comments section where wolfunit regularly posts and there's a surprisingly large amount of negative feedback.

The way the game works is that you have such a learning curve to go through that noobs are even noobier.
You start by learning how to click, and that's basically how you bet AI0.
Then you do some random mods to your deck, and do AI1.
Then you play AI2 and lose a fair amount, and when you play AI3 you're like wth impossible.
Then you play PvP1 a lot, because you actually get the most rewards and winrate there.
Eventually if you work hard you can get your first rare, but T50, AI5, and FGs are so impossibly difficult for most decks...

In general, you can't find the "real" Elements until you sign up here in the forums. This is where you get all your info, advice, etc.
So very true, Eva. However, there's probably a good amount of bias in that -- disgruntled Kong players may as well go and whine about how they can't win in the Kong forums or comments, because they don't know about the official forums.

Well, the link is already on the main site. What would be beneficial is if the game client had an easily visible link to the official forums (or at least to the Newbie section), so that the Kong people might have a chance at clicking that button out of curiosity and finding some real advice.

I'm seeing Tyrant ads on Elements -.-

Maybe people have different tastes, as I see some of the players that left the community go towards Tyrant

Just a note: Tyrant is also in two categories (Multiplayer and MMO). I don't believe that any other game on Kong does this, and it's a really cheap move to put yourself in the top 5 of two different categories. :/

well, as a devoted Tyrant player, (and a not-so-devoted Elements player), I'm gonna point out the reason why Tyrant is more popular:

1) Learning curve.
People are lazy. Tyrant is easier to do well in. Stick as many OP cards in your deck as you can, and win. Elements needs skill to balance quanta.

2) Storyline
Elements has no story. Tyrant does.

3) "More"
Tyrant has more cards. Of, course, there are only a few different skills in Tyrant, but there are more cards.

4) Factions
Factions are a good incentive to play.

5) Rewards
Although rewards are really just BS, Tyrant rewards you for grinding with "unlockable cards". Elements doesn't.

6) Raids
It's relatively new, but hey, adding moar features is a crowd pleaser.

people shouldnt play a game JUST because its easy, anyone who has the right to call themselves gamers play games that takes more skill
this is like saying borderlands is a better game than halo because it has more guns (that are WAY too similar to eachother)
factions that require you to go back to way earlier missions and grind even more just to get "friendlier" with them? shenanigans
elements DOES reward players who grind. there are things called upgrades and rares. do you have any?
raids burn through your energy like MAD. so thats just bs right there
my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "its better than yours" damn right, its better than yours! i can teach you but i'd have to charge!

(agentflare ninja'd while I was writing this, but I'll post anyway)

Just wanted to point out one more reason that more people might be playing Tyrant than ETG.

Tyrant feels like you're playing a fun game and accomplishing things from the beginning. It gives you at least some feeling of progress to motivate you to keep playing.

I've been playing ETG for months and it's starting to feel a lot less like a fun game and a lot more like a loyalty test: If I KEEP grinding the same opponents with the same couple of decks (which stopped being fun a while ago), then I'll EVENTUALLY be able to fully participate in the fun "real game" -- tournaments and leagues and PvP events. And there's no rewards and nothing fun to do in the meantime -- not even playing with deckbuilding, because you need to pick one deck and stick with it for a long time to be successful -- and why risk money/score/having to start all over from building and testing your own deck, when there's a whole forum of other people's rigorously tested decks to pick from? (And how is a noob supposed to find the trainer without the forums, anyway?)

If wanting my game to be fun for the majority of the time I'm playing it means I don't "have the right" to "call myself a gamer," and wanting more rewards (or at least some feedback!) for sitting on my @#$ clicking buttons makes me "lazy," then some people on this forum really need to get out more.

I enjoy playing both games, both for different reasons. In some ways Elements excels, in other ways Tyrant is better. I would elaborate on the pros and cons of each game, but that has somewhat already accomplished in above posts and that is not what I would like to discuss.

unit, and anyone else that thinks similarly, should learn that just because something is better does not mean it deserves more popularity. I used to behave much like unit, complaining that the greatest things are overshadowed by subpar competitors. However, I have learned (and am still learning) that sometimes you must accept this unfortunate reality.

For example, we could examine music. The popular music of today is lacking talent: generic, computer-generated beats, autotune, lack of originality and expression, and lyrics that could be written by any 12 year old. Yet it is more popular than other types of music that possess huge amounts of skill, talent, expression, etc. I have struggled with this concept because I am a huge fan of music and I was simply devastated that such a thing happened. However, over the years I gradually accepted this and I realized that other people have different opinions, and I should respect that. Even though they like something that I don't, that is fine. I find release in the fact that I, personally, listen to the best music, and I choose to ignore pop music.

There are other examples for this as well, it's not that hard to find them in the world. Just think of  categories (entertainment, government, etc) and you'll realize this prevalent in many different areas.

I think this is a skill that we all must learn - accepting reality and accepting opposing views. Sure, you may think, even know for a fact, that Tyrant is worse than Elements. However, there are many people out there who think Tyrant is better than Elements, and you are but one among many. Just because you have a certain viewpoint does mean everyone shares it. Just accept that some things in life are more popular or widespread than other, more deserving things.

The only thing that should be important to you is knowing the truth, that Elements is a better game than Tyrant. Just ignore those silly Tyrant lovers that rate their game higher, and enjoy the fact that you play the better game.
