How we make a good deck. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=11583.msg142378#msg142378

This is more or less how I believe we go through our deck making process.

1. Find an ability that is abusable.
2. Find another ability that lets you abuse your ability easier.
3. Repeat step 2 for as much as necessary/possible.
4. Find cards that have synergy with the cards from steps 1-3.
5. Add protection and countermeasures.
6. Find the best method of generating quanta.
7. Balance quanta generation, card amount, and card draw likelihood.
8. Test and rebalance.

Not so much abusable as useful.

it depends on the deck i think, some would be abusable and some would just be usable

1.  Find an overpowered card (you like)
2.  Find another overpowered card (you like)
3.  Do they work well together?  If not, repeat step two.
4.  Make a deck based upon the first two cards that work well together.  If none work well together, go rainbow.

^^  Auto anti-FG maker.  How SG made her anti-FG deck, how RoL hope was made, it's pretty much a recipe to make every deck ever conceived.  Picking cards you like is optional.

1.  Find a card that does one thing very well
2.  Find another card that does one thing very well
3.  Do they work well together?  If not, repeat step two.
4.  Make a deck based upon the first two cards that work well together.  If none work well together, go rainbow.
Fixed. Now it's in a language people understand.

1. whats my fav element ( :aether )
2. fav card in that (dragon)
3. how do i slow down the opponent because this (dragon) uses mass ( :aether ) ...oh hey perfect permanent (phase shield)
4. wow no way I'm just sucking up  ( :aether ) and I need more muscle  ??? ??? ??? oh hey crapload of  pillars that solve these two problems (:aether pillars)
5. do minor tweaks and BAM! you have a nice deck sir (mono aether)

all the stuff in the parenthesis are what I went through to make my current deck

and it's funny cause when I first made that deck I'm like, now way? no one found this out ye.......damn you essence!!!

Other Deck strategy:
1. Pick a theme.
Stall
Rush
Quanta Denial
Mass
Damage Denial
2. Find a good card/combo for the theme.
3. Repeat step for as much as possible/necessary.
4. Find the best method of quanta generation.
5. Balance.
6. Test and rebalance.
