How to "normalize" stats? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=20733.msg263554#msg263554

I am running detailed stats of each God I play with my deck, but everywhere around here the word "normalized" stats/win rate come up.

I searched, but I can not find any formula or info how to get those stats.

for example:
FG           WON LOST
Firequeen   0   9
Gemini   6   1
Graviton   8   6

How do I "normalize" these stats? just bring them up to a 100 games each?

Winrate you've experienced = (14/30)
Normalized winrate = (0/9)*(1/3) + (6/7)*(1/3) + (8/14)*(1/3)

You need to account for the fact that you've met Graviton 14 times and Gemini only 7, though over the long haul you'll meet them equally frequently.

Hope this helps!

Sorry to necro, but I'm relatively new to this game, and this was the first thread that came up on the search... (I didn't know what "normalized" meant either)

But to ease kevkev60614's reply (ty, btw, for replying) you add the win% against each FG (in fraction or decimal form), and then divide by the number of FGs involved in the calculation(29 right now, right?) Basically just restating for the math disinclined, like myself:

(0/9 + 6/7 + 8/14)/3 to use the example above, with only 3 FGs involved. (or more directly: (0/9 + 6/7 + 8/14)*1/3)

(yes, I know that is a basic distribution law, but it has been so long it hit me like an epiphany, so I wanted to share for those too eager to take the time to let it sink in -it simplifies the calculation greatly)
