The card Chimera morphs all your creatures into one mega creature, and gives it gravity pull and ignore shields.

What I'm wondering is if the benefits of the cards are preserved as well: For example, vampire. I assume this would not carry over?

That's right.  Only attack/HP are added together into the Chimera, abilities are ignored.
