How do you define a "mono" deck?

And the Deck Clarification battle seems to have come to an end. All definitions put up a good fight, but in the end, simplicity is what won.

I think the final accepted definition is wonderful. Easy to understand, no room for real other interpretation, and makes each mono-deck a bit more powerful in it's own.

It's not technically perfect, since you need quanta, not elements, to cast cards, but the meaning of it will be easily understandable to any English speaker.

Why not say quanta instead of element then?

Trio-decks: Decks that need three quanta types to cast their cards.
Rainbow: Decks that need four or more quanta types to cast their cards.
Mark and creature/permanent abilities excluded.

Actually, to be proper English, it should be "quantum types".  You generally don't put a plural form in a list of types.  It's "dog breeds", not "dogs breeds"; it's "die types" not "dice types".   Just that single change makes it a lot easier to read in my head.

Hmm, to someone knew and just learning the game, i could see how it might be a bit confusing. You could essentially use just any fitting word. Color, element, quantum, quanta, energy, take your pick really.

But in the end, wording aside, we have finally come to an agreement as to the definition, yes?

Oh, I didn't know what "one type of quanta, different types of cards" meant. I was like, how does that happen? But i think one type of quanta used and any different cards count as a mono. I don't think Shrieker decks count as a mono, because they rely on time to do damage. Flying titan does, because it doesn't acutally require air quanta.

Just my two cents that I'm happy with the definition
I think it fits exactly what the game plays like.

Elements plays between elements so easily, that it's almost a crime to play with only 1 element. Even if it is just a little time to evolve your grabs, or a fire quantum to explode your unstables, the main part is that every part that comes from your hand is part of your element.

Zanz made this game to be played with more than one element (imho) and even if we are picking a definition for 'mono,' it still needs to allow a little room to make the game interesting.

I've been thinking about the wording. It's not a big deal really but I'd like it to be short and clear. I'm thinking something like this:

Mono = cards cost 1 type of element
Duo = cards cost 2 types of elements
Trio = cards cost 3 types of elements
Rainbow = cards cost 4 or more types of elements

Does this work? Or am I missing something?
