Let me preface this by saying that I hate Ghostmare. I think it's a boring, unimaginative deck, and I always groan when I see that the Arena deck I'm fighting has both
and
.
So, anyway, I just did exactly that and, to cap it all, I got a bad draw on a Swallow deck and knew that I wouldn't be able to play any useful cards for 2-3 turns. Luckily for me, though, the AI also got a bad draw and drew no
Towers at all. So it goes on for a couple of turns with neither of us doing anything (and, for the record, in the entire match, he only drew 1 Tower) until I had enough quanta to get out an Otyugh, a Shard of Focus and even, due to a couple of turns of doing nothing, a Gravity Nymph. At this stage I knew that I'd won as there was nothing he could throw at me which I couldn't counter. But I didn't get a Shard of Patience for ages, so couldn't actually attack.
Then I noticed that the AI's health kept dropping and dropping every time he took a turn. It took me a couple of goes to realise - he was having to discard Ghosts of the Past, and was taking 13 off his health every time he did so. I did eventually get a Shard of Patience, but by the time that happened I only had to take about 80HP off him, he'd already taken the majority of his health away for me.
So, given my dislike for the hand, it amused me greatly to see it dying mostly because of its own attack.
Has anyone else had a match that they've won because luck and circumstances turned the other hand's strength into a weakness?
