PrtScr should screenshot your whole screen. Alt+PrtScr will only screenshot your current window.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

It doesn't do anything by itself on either my laptop or my regular computer- and I don't recall ever changing any settings related to it.

But it's not a big deal.

Option 2, Step 1-

Just pushing PrtScr on my keyboard doesn't work, I have to use Alt-PrtScr.

It may work for some of you, but if it doesn't try with Alt.

Thank you, I was wondering about that.

That's strange. I'm pretty sure Prt Scr alone usually works. Alt + Prt Scr is for taking a screenshot of the active window.

But maybe it depends on your settings or something. I added the Alt + Prt Scr to the tutorial.

I did some research on the subject. Pressing only "Prt Scr" SHOULD work but seems like other users are having the same issue you have.

Anyone who has issues, try these:

1. Prt Scr
2. Alt + Prt Scr
3. Ctrl + Alt + Prt Scr

.. OR you can just install Jing.

How to Add a Screenshot to Your Post

Part 1 - making the image
1. Find "Prt Scr" button on your keyboard and press it (Alt + Prt Scr on some systems)
2. Go to Start > All Programs > Accessories > Paint
3. Once inside Paint, choose Edit > Paste
4. Draw a rectangle with "select" tool around your deck
5. Edit > Cut
6. File > New (don't save changes)
7. On new file, choose Edit > Paste
8. You now see your deck cropped in right size
9. File > Save As
10. Save the file as JPG on your desktop

Part 2 - attaching the image to your post
1. Start a new post and after finished writing, click "Additional Options.." on the bottom left
2. Browse the file you created in part 1
3. Click "Post"
