Fractal PvP 3 times accused to be a hacker. https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=4944.msg49119#msg49119
« on: April 06, 2010, 03:37:36 am »
I play Elements for a long time and some times i accused people for hacking in pvp because of a glitch we all know it existed. Well that was noobish for me, so i apologize to anyone i shouted, insulted or accused.  :-[  :-[
Now here comes the funny part. I was accused as a hacker (serves me right) for using Fractal. "Do you hack? Max is 6",  or "Cool hack" were examples of comments i had during the game. I love this card. It isn't well known yet and people misunderstand it. :))

my personal experience with this was beating the other player down to close 0 hp when i had 100, then after saying gg and the long wait for them to give up, all i got was this:
pfft I hate playing against hackers  *gives up
I was like  :o . . . . .ha?

I just don't understand this phenomenon... How is it possible, with all the information available, to not know about cards that are in the bazaar? I understand how some might not have known about Sundial and Scarab when they first came out in 1.13, because all Elements had at the time was a mish-mash wiki and a brand new forum with only a handful of members. But now? ???

If the n00b is not even smart enough to look in the bazaar, then he does not deserve to know about the new cards.

But yeah, there are all kinds of people on the internet. Some are probably 7-9 year old kids.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

To play devils advocate, why would you look in the bazaar for new cards?

If you didn't notice the version number increased to 1.21 and then check for new cards, what mechanism exists for a player to realize the game has been updated?

You expect too much from people. One click of people (mind you, they are many) will never ever read the forums or anything and expect to know everything and have the correct info anyway. And as stuff goes fast in PvP they don't have time to read the cast spells (or rather it never occurred to them or they don't want to) and no battlelog to look in after they loose (don't think if that will help either as they are ignorant and believes themselves to be good already) there is nothing or not much you can do.

After surfing on the net for 15 years I simply don't care about such people as they will never grasp anything beyond the confines of their closed minds. I sound pessimistic I know but there are lost causes.

The funniest thing is that when someone plays a card, it shows the card you played where your hand is. They could easily just see it played and hover over it to see what it does.

Having the games end up abruptly doesn't help either.

Besides, I think there should be a queue of the last cards played by the opponent shown somewhere ingame.
As a new player, I had trouble trying to follow the enemy's movements.

Two hours ago a person came into chat and accused a (t50 deck life/aether deck/player) of cheating because it played 7 cockatrices at turn 5. I happened to recognize the name of this deck/player because i saw him multiple times when I've farmed t50 on sunday/monday and remembered he used fractal to mass cockatrices.

We were only 4 other people in chat and we tried to convince this guy that it wasn't cheating.

I don't know if i should laugh or cry. AIs cant cheat and the card have been in the trainer for ages and ingame. The forum and the game is positively brimming over with fractal decks if compared to the other new cards.

That sounds like a personal problem for the player, because discovering new cards is as easy as catching a ball in a cup!

...and as easy as that, too. ;)
