Forum Sluggishness

You may have noticed the forums running slowly during peak traffic hours. With the War preparations and an active community the simple server I was hosting this from just couldn't handle the traffic.

Well, I have some good news. An anonymous donator got in contact with me and covered upgrade costs for the next year. This should mean a far more pleasant experience for everyone once the account transfer occurs. I will keep you all updated as the process progresses. Let me know if you have any question.

Please give an absolutely massive thank you to the anonymous donor. This person has requested that in return for accepting the donation they not be revealed. I will honor this, so please don't ask.

Is there some way (just in case crossing my fingers it won't happen but hey maybe it could) you could set up a reminder or renewal donation acceptance "system" thing?  This way, 365 days from now, the forum doesn't go offline for a week (or more!) where everybody scratches their heads and wails.

I don't want anyone blind-sided by forum death. If I plan to step down from hosting or if the hosting bill is coming up, I will give everyone ample notice. I will also be happy to put a countdown timer on the status page once the lapse date is determined after this migration.
