Spoiler for Hidden:
I think you guys are forgetting how many people from the USA and many European countries play this game. To narrow that down to THREE people would be a huge competition in itself.
I repeat what I've said on my World Cup idea thread about USA qualifiers:

Spoiler for estimation:
There are about 3000 forum members. Let's say that 1/3 are from the USA (1024 to make the math simple). Let's assume that all of them are currently active, that they all have more than 30 posts, and that they all want to participate (which would be awesome, by the way). You arrange them in groups of 4, and you have 256 groups. After the 3 weeks of round robin you get your 256 group winners, and you arrange them in a (very large) single bracket. After 8 stages (weeks) you get your National Team. That's 11 weeks, almost 3 months. It's long, but not eternal. It would require some heavy organization, though.

Now, that's the absolute worst case scenario. We could make an estimation of how many reasonably active people from USA are around. I'm sure it would be a big crowd, but nowhere near 1024.
Therefore, to save time and hassle, I think America, Europe, and Australiasiafrica works better.

Each country should organize a tournament to decide its champion, and then separated by continent, those competing for a single tournament to decide the top 3 of the continent.
Then dispute the world.
This gives a total of 3 dates of tournaments. are 3 weekends to resolve the tournament.
Thus it gives the champion of each country, the top 3 of each continent, and the best continental team. Which to me should each provide distinct trophies and awards.

The flag of the country in place of a trophy would be something really cool if tbm Champion by country.

So Washington, the trouble is be the unique member player of the a country, then he gets a free icon, porting the idea of the icon is unfeasible, is preferable each country  forge their champion and then do the World Cup with incon only for the Top 3 players.

But the WC does not involve nation and focuses only on the player, now is World Cup and not championship, each country sent its champion, is different.

Exactly. And I feel that having 1 player from each country doesn't represent the country more than the player themselves. Also, teams would be much more fun for everyone. Would you rather just be sitting around hearing about how these matches are going, or being in the matches yourself?

How is the World championship similar to this proposal? It has nothing to do with countries.
If you mean the round robin and elimination phases, well, that is a fairly common structure for championships...

Also, 28 USA players in RR's doc. That means 6 weeks tops for a qualifier (5 if you don't do a round robin), AND giving a whole week per match.  Not a lot of time nor a lot of hassle.

6 weeks compared to 0 weeks? Hm. Sounds like more hassle than needed. Also, refer to my above post about how much less fun it is with 1 person per country.

I actually I also prefer the idea of teams, but this very complex to organize it as a team
for example
Americas (Can-Bra-Usa-Arg)
how many members will be on group, 8?
be two members for each country? how is this definition?

Bigger countries means smaller teams with players from the country.

Instead of "team america" which is a huge head ache get a team North America + Team South America, or Team Brazil + Team USA + Team Canada + Team Argentina.

Look at Italy, for example. Plenty of people.

If a team (country) has only 2 instead of three player, then ppl from for example USA can join another country if they have "roots" from that country. For example: parents are from Country XY or somebody was born in Country XY (but lives in Country AB), he can join Country XY.

If a team like Italy or USA have more than 3 player, then a small tourney can be played.

I think Scandinavia, BeNeLux, Alpine Countries,... can count as one country. I know only one person from Liechtenstein, and one from Austria and one from Swiss -> Team Alpine
other examples:
One from Norway, two from Sweden -> Scandinavia.
Two from the Netherlands, one from Belgium -> BeNeLux.

I know we have unfortunately too few ppl from Africa (I actually know just two), here I would say the continent counts as one "country".

The bigger problem is, that this is a pvp event and we'll need many many players from different countries to build enough and complete teams. I think the community is too small to realize this idea =/

I do not know what the problem of having a champion for the country, let alone reward them with a badge with the flag of the country. If a player is only in one country, he deserves the insignia, after all no other fellow was interested in the dispute. As the emblem flag, there will be only one per country, and if the tournament is world every year its bearer can be challenged to lose it.
I think that may be a topic open for entries, and then separate disputes by countries such disputes are made by master element. Make yourself a single tournament by country or 4 tournaments (four consecutive weekends), and voila, your champion is elected.
