So after a few months of on and off exploring of the forum, I still don't understand half of what's being said when someone who's been here a while enters the conversation.

It's a newbie thing, so forgive me bringing it up. Happens every time I start a new game... I think senior members would prefer to not be pestered repeatedly with simple language questions when a new member joins the conversation. Actually I was wondering if someone had a list of all the different abbreviations I keep seeing with specific definitions. What are these CCs, PCs, EHG decks and what not? (actually I know those, but for example)

If they don't have this list, maybe I could turn this thread into a kind of dictionary list of definitions people could be referred to?
With that in mind, post any abbreviation you've come across with the definition as you interpreted it.

Like:
SoF - Shard of Focus
<^> Curiosity killed the cat. Now what if I told you Curiosity was the name of my dog?
<^> All things must come to an end. The things that you loved, and things you hate, but much more pressingly, the timer to the bomb that's in the room with us.

See those tabs up at the top? Like 'Home,' 'Rules,' 'Help,' ect. Go to the second to last one which says 'Glossary'; it's full of such things. I think it was added in the forum move 'caus I don't remember seeing before then.

Whatever happened to that mouse-over thing that was implemented? If you moused over a common abbreviation, it would give you a tooltip saying what it stood for. Like if someone typed SoFo, you could mouse over and see "Shard of Focus; the Gravity attuned shard" or something along those lines.

The dakka dakka forums has this and it works quite well. ANy chance of asking them very nicely for the codes?

Woah. There's a glossary. Don't remember that.

We used to have this but it wasn't that great. It borked a lot, I had to manually edit the code a lot, and it caused problems with our other modifications. In the end, I decided it wasn't worth it.
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.
