Welp. walls of texts scare me.
1- Discord replacing blab.
Personally, I have a hard time seeing this. Discord chat always seems to be a chat for the community but that talks about everything but it. I personally don't use - ANY - of my other discord channels the way I use the blab either, as a chat platform where I can just sit and talk. Discord has always for me been a way of relying information and a free voice chat.
Does that mean I'm against the change? No. Not entirely. But I wouldn't be for the change in the Discord's current form.
2- Hiring
Hiring has gone completely wrong. I do agree that hiring people who are active in sections can do well without going through hiring process. In fact, I think
Vindilos should be asked if he's interested to be a TO right now. Maybe keep the current Hirings for the big events ( Trials, War, Brawl) since those don't stay relevant the whole year and new people could be organizing every year.
3- Staff
I think Staff should be rethinked completely. Some roles, I'll give an example like bug hunter, should completely be removed. This could be looked at by council or whatever group of people, which is my next point.
4- Council
I think Council needs to stay, either in it's current form or in the form of hiring Gmods. How to hire GMods? I'd leave that entirely and completely up to the admins, I think they know who can help them the most. How many people? Definitely less than Council. At most 3-5 in my opinion.
5- Firing
I think admins need to be able to Fire both staff and council/gmods for inactivity. Let's give a number right here, say 2 months. If a staff member is gone or has not been doing it's job for 2 months without prior explanation, he's fired. I do not say that you cannot hire him back at a later time, but we don't want dead times due to inactive staff.
I feel like I'm steering off-subject now, If I think of anything more I may post later. And if you have any questions about my opinion on certain matters I'm open to answering.
