Hi - and first of all: thanks for this wonderfull game. I've wasted enjoyed lots of time with it.

I managed to overcome my laziness chronic depression and decided to add the game to mobygames.com (http://mobygames.com) database. It will only help you promote it. The point is I'm new here and I'm completely blank when it comes to the development history. My idea went unnoticed on the forum.

So PM me the game's first release date, names and roles of people who contributed to it etc. etc. (just see how it's done on moby's). I'll write description (unless you want to do it yourself) and make screenies. My way of saying thanks.

All the best,

um, elements is hard enough for zanz to keep up with with all the server upgrades. not to mention the cost to upgrade servers. this would probably force him into bankruptcy. which wouldnt be good, AT ALL. if you want to continue playing elements, i would wait till he has A LOT more money and time on his hands.
my milkshake brings all the boys to the yard and they're like "its better than yours" damn right, its better than yours! i can teach you but i'd have to charge!

I think Zanz is doing okay right now. He's just lacking time more than anything else.

RRS1980: try emailing Zanz on game.elements@gmail.com or try to catch him in chat (you'd have to be very lucky but he occasionally turns up).

Um... I don't get it. Scaredgirl wants everyone to promote the game via StumbleUpon, while my idea is bad? With the current financial model (click the ads) in mind, I think Elements needs new players, not those hardcore ones who play it daily. At least the companies which pay for the clicks want to reach new viewers, not the same group over and over again.

It´s a good idea. It is extremly unlikley Zanz would have a Problem with this. The more that play the more money via advertisment comes in. Doubt Zanz will be forced into bankruptsy because of server upgrades and if so there are ways to get the money in. Best thing of course is to donate some money and advertise for more players like this mobygames.com to keep Elements free.

Adding Elements to mobygames.com is a good idea however this is bad timing. If you've played the game recently, you might have noticed frequent disconnects, PvP not working, etc. This is because at the moment Elements has too many players. There are so many players that Zanz is getting a new server. Until that happens, the less new players the better.

Also mobygames.com is not really about browser flash games (just go see the top browser games and you'll see what I'm talking about) so this marketing move probably won't be as amazing as you think, but great nevertheless because it's free marketing.

Hmm, what about armorgames, addictinggames, or maxgames?
those site are mainly composed of flash games and have a lot of viewers.

But as SG said, this idea should probably wait till the kongregate badgers calms down a bit

Don't worry about timing: it will take me a while to finish my part of the job, and then there's not-so-short waiting period before my submission is accepted.

I know that mobygames is not that great in terms of marketing (there are more effective ways), but it's free and it focuses on the history of game development. Games come an go, as a designer myself I like to think that my work will be remembered a little while longer thanks to such undertakings like mobygames - I was hoping zanzarino would also appreciate this.

Like I said: I didn't want to be a freeloader and wanted to give something in return. But I'm not going to beg nor fight over this idea. It's like giving a favor, I get nothing from this. If I get all the info I need (devs, dates etc.) I'll try to find some spare time. But if it's going to take me writing dozens of posts/emails/whatnot then I'd better give it up.

"Never give up, never surrender!" Despite the lack of support I've added Elements to this game encyclopedia:

http://www.mobygames.com/game/browser/elements_

Feel free to rate it and contribute to this database entry.

Heh, I actually started playing Elements via a BBGames Database (I think that's the name), although I did stop playing until it showed up on Kong.
