Elements makes me sad https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=29729.msg378138#msg378138

I'm new and bored. I feel I shouldn't be bored with a game with so much promise but I seem to have no choice.
I have a red deck I have played at least 131 times, I can't tell you how bored I am with that deck. I also have an antimatter/liquid shadow deck. but the deck is totally dependant on your opponents. Sigh.
The simple reason is that getting new decks is such slow progress. Am I missing something or is the game one long grind till you have some deck variety?

Win some upped cards from false gods and sell them. A card pretty much = a deck.

IMO, a game shouldn't rely on something like the trainer to keep players interested. This is definitely an issue.

The Trainer, like rare cards, allows the game to appeal to a larger range of players and attention spans outside the range of the basic concept of the game.

As much as I hate to say this... the prospect of having great power without exceptional work is incredibly enticing to many people. It would be the same basic concept as seeing how quickly you can hack a system.

Don't despair, mightydrunken.  You've found the forums -- that's the first clue step.  Now, read this (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,23099.0.html) and start kicking the butt of 1 FG/day and earning an upgraded card on average every other day.  Save them up, buy one of the mostly-unupped decks that is kicking so much butt lately (Read here (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,25609.0.html)), and start farming in the big leagues.

See?  It's easy.

If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

and once you have the money play some of the decks by Essence, and then you will really start to have fun

This attitude frankly disgusts me. Elements is a game, remember? It's supposed to be fun. And expecting a game to be fun for more than the first little while is nowhere near the "same basic concept" as seeing how quickly you can hack a system.

This isn't dues-paying at your first full-time job, this is a game. A. Game. There is no moral high ground attached to who's spent more time sitting in front of a computer clicking buttons, and mightydrunken is not greedy or weak for pointing out a basic flaw in this game.

No need to get personal with me - I'm stating one possible view point. Other than the flaming, I agree with you completely.

EDIT: And yes, I consider that flaming.

Sadly I'd have to say.... it does try one's patience as to how long you will endure the "same 'ol same 'ol"... I feel that it definately has an effect on how many peeps stick with it... If you've been around for 1+yrs then there's no way of the newbs EVER competing with you...
