I don't belive in the forced tradition of gift giving, but if someone wanted to out of their own want to give and could give some of my card ideas into the game then I would be most pleased. Beyond that social freindship in the game and forum is all I could ask.

My Grown-Up Elements Christmas List

Dear Zanzarino,

Thank you for bending your ear towards the forums this Holiday season.  I tried to make this list as reasonable and as well-explained as I could.  I really love Elements as it stands right now, and you're already giving us so much that I feel embarrassed to ask for more -- but the question has been asked, so here goes.  My Elements Christmas List consists of one minor-to-significant change to each element, including 'Other'. Some changes are designed to make the game funner, some are designed to allow cool things to happen that currently can't, and one is just for me because, well, it's my Christmas list after all.


- Change Shard of Readiness back to it's original form, so that it allows creatures to use their abilities immediately. You can accomplished that without imbalancing the game if you also...

  - Rewrite Dive to be additive rather than multiplicative. (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,17454)  Stacking multiplier effects have killed many games in the past, both online and tabletop.  By altering the code in this small way, you not only get rid of SoR/PU/Wyrm FG killers, but you can tone down the cost of Sky Blitz a bit and most importantly, you neatly sidestep a host of potential future headaches.

- Change Graboid to evolve into a Burrowed Shrieker (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,10202.0.html).  The big problem everyone has with Graboid is how fast the damage comes out, and the AI shows that obviously what you intended was for it to be a quick Immortal, not a massive damage powerhouse.  If Graboids evolved into Burrowed Shriekers, the damage would slow down without having to stress about changing the evolve cost, and Earth would have a creature base a bit more in theme with it's general aura of untouchability without losing on the potential for big, hairy attackers in the long run.

- This is a change more for fun than for need, but I've always wanted to see it.  Immolate/Cremate should have it's effect based, to a degree, on the creature sacrificed.  Like have it create 7/9 Fire quanta plus random other quanta equal to the HP of the sacrificed creature.  That could make for some very clever decks revolving around Armagio and other low-cost, high-HP creatures that currently don't see a lot of face time.

- Water needs a new mechanic.  Freeze is all good, but it's literally the only thing that mono-Water has going for it.  Water needs other elements to get ALL of it's other mechanics going (Lobo, Poison, Infect, etc.) Because I'm determined to make every item on this list a specific thing and not leave any generalities, I'll list a specific example of a new mechanic that Water could totally benefit from: Flow Control.  Flow Control would be on a short series of cards that do other stuff, but also change your Mark from whatever it is to a new Mark specified on the card.  For example, Water might have a card called Neolithid that, alongside whatever else did did, had "Flow Control: ".

- Add Alpha Wolf and Pack Wolf (http://) to the game.  Yeah, this is my personal request.  I don't think much needs to be said; I believe it's balanced, it's simple enough to implement, and it would give the element of efficient creatures a way to get a lot of them out quickly -- something Life is conspicuously lacking.

- This one is simple: use jmizzle7's suggestion (http://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php/topic,9468.msg136956#msg136956) and turn upgraded Deathstalkers into 1|1 creatures that cost 3 .

- This one is intuitively obvious: Holy Light should deal damage to players with or marks.  The fact that it doesn't is just weird.

- I told myself that I wasn't going to introduce more than one card of my own making, so I'll just toss out what I hope is a brilliant idea I literally just had: Darkness needs a creature that deals 1 damage to you at the end of the turn if it's in your hand.  You can see where that's going.

- Graviton Mercenary needs to only cost three.  Straight up.  Graviton Guard is boring, but at least it's an efficient creature for what it does.  The Merc needs a cost tweak.

- Entropy needs Chaos Seed and Chaos Power split into two different cards, each with their own upped and unupped forms.  Keep Chaos Seed costing 1 , and create a second list for the upped version that adds Aflatoxin, Antimatter, Mutation (the unupped version that might kill you), Petrify, and Berserk to the mix.  Unupped Chaos Power is fine -- just increase the cost to 2 :chaos.

- Time needs a midrange attacker, much like Darkness did before Gargoyle.  Your options are Deja Vu...and Anubis?  Devonian Dragon?  Something simple like a jackal or other Egyptian-style critter, maybe that (to make it -y) goes to the bottom of your deck when it dies. 

- My Christmas gift for Aether: don't change the casting cost of Fractal.  You'll prevent a lot more abuse if you change it to drain all quanta of the targeted creature's element.  Granted, you'll still have to worry about RoL/Hope, but that's an FG-farming problem, not a problem with Fractal -- switch some FG's decks around to make mass creature control more likely to show up, and you can solve the problem without killing a whole class of balanced, viable, and fun PVP decks.



Personally, any one of these changes would feel like Christmas to me.  Hell, the fact that I'm pretty sure you'll read this and maybe get some ideas already is my Christmas present.  But if they did all magically come true, I would seriously leave a pile of milk and cookies out for Zanta Clauz every year for the rest of my life.  Or, if you'd prefer, I'll FedEx them to you.  Just let me know.
