1.5Hi everyone, it my pleasure to present zanzarino's official patch notes for Elements 1.5!The reason zanz has been so silent about updates is that he has been working hard to create this update! In fact, it will be released tomorrow already! He hasn't had time to go online to post anything himself yet, but he sent an email to us admins about his plans for Elements' future, and it is finally time to present them.
Without further ado, here is what will happen in Elements 1.5:
Complete Code RewriteSince Flash games will soon become unplayable on most browsers, the game will be rewritten in a much more modern framework:
FORTRAN. This top-of-the-line programming language is perfect for high performance computing, and will make sure Elements never lags again.
New Payment ModelInpired by the immensely popular card game
Artifact, Elements will now use a similar payment model! This means that to create a new account for the game you will need to pay $9.99, and for each PvP game you play, you must pay $1.99. However, you can now sell cards to other players in order to keep playing! And do not worry, all accounts made before March 31st 2012 will remain in the game, so you don't have to buy the game!
Game RebalanceSome cards will be nerfed to keep the overall power level of the game down. Other weaker cards will be buffed instead.
- Dimensional Shield only lasts 1 turn and its cost is increased to 10 (9 when upgraded)
- Fractal now only creates 1 copy of target creature
- Shard of Sacrifice now costs 150 HP (140 when upgraded) and it will only be active during your own turn
- Shard of Patience now buffs all creatures by +0/+1 (+0/+2 when upgraded) and the creatures will be delayed 5 turns per turn it spends in stasis
- Skeletons are buffed to 4/4 (5/5 when upgraded)
- Holy Light heals 60 HP
- Luciferin now activates for all creatures in your collection, including those not in your deck
- Shard of Freedom's hit chance increases to 50% and now stacks so that it can trigger multiple times when hit chance is higher than 100%
New Card ExpansionA lot of new cards will be added in 1.5! Due to the popularity of the recent
The Grand Tournament expansion for Hearthstone, every card from that expansion will be ported into Elements for
its first Expansion:
The Great Tournament Obviously, the name and art of all the cards will change to avoid legal issues (For example, Silent Knight will be called Quiet Knight, and Aviana will be called Aviane) but other than that you can now play with your favorite Hearthstone cards in Elements too!
I hope you all are as hyped for 1.5 as I am, it's gonna be awesome!
