(maybe this should be in suggestions i'm not sure)

Ok so I have noticed something that all nymphs have in common:  They all have an ability that corresponds with the game.  Something else they all have in common: Their ability costs = or < than the cost of the card...oh wait for :earth Nymph it costs MORE!  :o

:element Ability/Card: Card Cost / Nymph Cost
:entropy Antimatter: 8/4
:death Aflatoxin: 8/3
:gravity Black Hole: 4/3
:earth Basilisk Blood: 2/3
:life Adrenaline: 4/2
:fire Rage (Pot.): 3/3
:water Nymph's Tear: 8/4
:light Luciferine: 1/0
:air Unstable Gas: 6/3
:time Precognition: 2/2
:darkness Liquid Shadow: 4/3
:aether Immortal/Quint: 4/3

So discounting :light (which is a sticky situation with card costing 1 "other" and nymph costing nothing)... we have:

4 Nymphs with 2:1 Card Cost : Ability Cost ratio
3 Nymphs with 4:3 Card Cost : Ability Cost ratio
2 Nymphs with 1:1 Card Cost : Ability Cost ratio
1 Nymphs with 8:3 Card Cost : Ability Cost ratio
1 Nymphs with 2:3 Card Cost : Ability Cost ratio

Does anyone agree with me that this appears to be a problem? What is the use of a 9 quanta nymph whose ability costs more than the card you can play it with...with the quanta you use to play the :earth nymph and "petrify" something once you could use all 6 of your basilisk bloods...And sure, you could say that once you get your nymph out you have petrify "on a stick" but coming in at 0/3, :earth nymph is quite susceptible to creature control and doesnt even do any damage...imho this nymph is very underpowered and should probably have its ability changed to cost 1 :earth quanta and/or its health should be increased

I'm all for this but if you implement this the you would have to do something about  :time and :light nymphs too.

Light-who needs bio more than once i mean really.

Time-a hourglass does this better thats just sad unless you add more benefits for being able to see your Opponents hand

It costs more, because as a Creature rather than a 1 off spell you can lock down an opponents lineup.

Compare this same result to Arctic Squid and its Congeal Ability.

In my opinion there isn't much correlation between the card costs and the nymph ability costs.

As a general rule I reckon nymph abilities should cost more than the actual cards because they can be used indefinitely. However, then one must consider that they can actually be stopped/killed. So probably the best is just for them to be equal. It shouldn't be a matter of the basilisk blood ability being reusable because every other nymph ability is reusable as well. If anything the nymph abilities are more balanced that the actual card costs and the actual card costs are what's wrongly priced.

One should also consider the attack/HP of nymphs in the balancing considerations.

The real problem here is that BB originally cost 5 :earth IIRC, and got a mad drop in cost because it wasn't being used at all - -but the Nymph never got updated to reflect the new cost.
If something happens and you think it deserves my attention, feel free to PM me. Other than that, I'm probably here if you want to shoot the breeze.

Arctic squid takes 3 to freeze for 3 turns. This takes 3 to turn for double. Arctic squid also has 2-3 cost ratio.

Wow, never looked at the thread, let that be a lesson. Good Job Kael Hate.
