Creature Class

I don't know if this has already been done, but I took a crack at classifying all of the creatures in Elements.  I think that new cards referring specifically to a "type" of creature could open up some new possibilities.  I only wrote the unupgraded names, but they all carry over.

Please inform me if you think one belongs somewhere else, or if there is a better category that some fit in.

Insectoid - Antlion, Graboid, Flesh Spider, Deathstalker, Forest Scorpion, Ash Eater, Dragonfly, Firefly Queen, Firefly, Scarab, Dune Scorpion, Devourer, Parasite, Phase Spider

Humanoid - Gnome Rider, Hematite Golem, Lycanthrope, Fallen Elf, Mummy, Graviton Mercenary, Graviton Fire Eater, Lava Golem, Mind Flayer, Crusader, Anubis, Pharaoh, Gargoyle, Immortal

It seems like "beast" is just the other category you threw the remainders into.

I always considered Shrieker and Insectoid because it evolves from graboid.

That beast section needs to be redone. Armagio is a humanoid, not a beast - or if you want to reclassify armagio could maybe be a machine, but it is not an animal.

Fire and Forest Spirits don't strike me as animals either.


Maybe you can create a new class called Essence.

Essence: Fire Spirit, Forest Spirit, Photon, Spark

Those are all airbourne and seem like the "essence" of their element.


I think overall the idea is okay. Where this would really be good is for creating new passive abilities and or new cards that work on these categories. Insectoid is clearly a distinct and definable category so I suspect it would be the first to receive a supplementing card.

Too specific I think as it would encompass just two creatures from the same element. I think Skeleton should be a humanoid btw, not a beast.

Funny, but the whole division makes no sense to me.

You take a rather small and specific class with birds, yet the antlion and spiders are just insectoids. Now, it isn't clear to me what the antlion is, however it looks like a bipedal with 2 toes, which would suggest it is more like a reptile or bird, maybe even a mammal.

Arachnoids have 8 legs, therefore they cannot be insects.

The beast classification doesn't even look remotely convincing. Cats, frogs, invertebrates, fish, undead and fantasy creatures alike are in it.

You made a divine category, but did not put Anubis in it.

Very odd. Otherwise a classification and a bigger storyline for elements might be fun yeah.
