I've read this thread with great interest, it is a good question, but I personally don't think it would be really achieveable to bring elements to a real card game, there is just to much calculations and random generation behind all the algorithms that affect the cards, change their stats or special abilities that are difficult to reproduce. I can't really immagine how a reproduction of something like pandemonium - that is pure random in what it does and to which cards - can be easily achieved.)
The idea of a device that could do a certain part of the calculations sounds good, but I'm not sure if that is really something that makes sense, I guess you end up having almost major parts of the game in the computer (or device) again and only a small part of the game would consist in really playing with the cards.
