What SG said. I put a temporary moratorium on beta deckbuilding until we could find a place for them. I don't personally see anything wrong with the decks themselves, but they do not belong in the same place as actual decks from the live game. A beta deck section in the 'In Development' board is exactly what I wanted to create, but I can't create non-topic forum content.

Howsabout we simply require all new beta style threads to have a [BETA] type tag first thing in the title; I've seen similar strategies work on other forums with things like [WIP], [HLP], and [REL].  When the OP gets done with the deck AND the card has been released in its current form, the tag can be simply removed.  Also, if an older card is being changed, a deck using that card probably should follow the same [BETA] rules.

IMO, decks built with cards that are still in test phase and subject to a change, are built to actually test a card and give feedback on it before it hits live. Those decks do not belong in "Deck" section. Deck section is for new players looking for good tested deck, or people that just like to look at what other people play.

Personally, I rarely open "Deck" section, but I always monitor Development section. As that section is to give feedback on new cards, and you can only give feedback by building and testing deck built around the card, THAT is the right forum for such decks. So basically, I agree with Jmizzle.

I'm uncomfortable with another subforum for two main reasons.  First of all, these decks usually have a short lifespan, either due to card changes or releases.  I think this is one of the longer delays (not that I'm complaining!) between updates that we've had yet.  As soon as a card is released, all those decks no longer belong in that forum because the cards have finally been finalized, hopefully, leading to point number two; its more work for the moderators.  Someone has to maintain the section every time the cards are released or the decks made obsolete.  Thats why I think a simple community title tag could work a bit easier.

I agree with either the tag idea or the subforum idea. The reason being is that the decks people come out with help zanz decide on balancing issues.

I like the subforum the most; reduces clutter.

Tagging threads with "[1.25]", "[1.26]", or "[1.27]" would also be nifty.

i like the tag idea instead of another section
coinich already gave the best reasons why

with that said, i propose adding tags (not sure if this forum enable tag creation) based on multiple variable such as :-
Version: [1.24] [1.25] [1.26]
Opponent: [PvP] [PvE] [AI3] [T50] [AI5] [FG]
Elements: [:aether] [:air] ... [:water]

something like that if its possible
this will really help out the community

The elements used in question ain't needed i believe but handy, the version and main opponent would be really worth it though!

Very good indeed, i abhor all these "post as fast as i can decks" too.

Ok, I made a new "Beta Decks" section and moved some of the beta decks there already. Rest will follow shortly.

I'm a bit worried that this system will increase moderation too much because you have to manually move each topic to the correct section but we'll see how it plays out. If it's too much of an hassle, we'll probably go with the title tagging system.
