FAQ says: "Grand Master has to defend his or her title against other Masters every two months."

Actually, this seems to be outdated - what is the actual ruling? Or is there just no one to enforce it?

That's outdated. The Grandmaster is a Master of an element that has won War and either defeated the current Grandmaster or taken over the title due to the previous Grandmaster disappearing (walkover win).

A Grandmaster battle has never occurred because either the challenger or the Grandmaster have always disappeared or lost their Mastership after winning War or they've been deuce (and won several Wars in a row). Currently, Root would have to win Fire trials to get a chance at challenging deuce for the title. Much of the Grandmaster battle hasn't been finalized, such as rules or when it's supposed to occur. I tried to get this ironed out with the Overseers a few months ago, but it hasn't been a priority for obvious reasons.

The Grandmaster battle is supposed to occur at the end of Trials because a Master who became Grandmaster could lose their Master title shortly after becoming Grandmaster, which seemed silly. Additionally, having it at the end of Trials allows a non-Master General that won War to have a shot at the Grandmaster title if he won Master in Trials. Current example being Root.

when giving rep to another forum user, it uses a equation to give a certain amount of rep to someone. Does making your reputation visible as 0 affect the equation?

I thought the amount of rep given is the same as reputation power/100, rounded down, so making it invisible wouldn't affect it because although no one else can see it, the amount is still there.

War is a massive PvP event which most of the forumers participate in. There are 12 teams of 6 players, one for each element. Each team has a vault of cards from which they build decks with 50% of the element they represent and fight one another each round. Losing means your vault decreases and winning allows you to salavage cards from your opponent's deck into your vault. Once your vault goes below a certain limit, you are eliminated. Masters are people who have won the Trials of an element in this term. Trials are single player events, with one for each element. Trialists have to prove their worthiness, play battles using their element and gain community votes to score points. The highest scoring challenger faces the master in a final battle to determine the next master (or, if no Master is defending, two top challengers battle). Masters are mainly responsible for leading their teams in War and being the face of their element on the forums. They also have first dibs as Brawl Bosses, and can hide in the Master's Dojo during riots. For more info, go here: http://elementscommunity.org/forum/trials/. Grandmaster is simply a master who has won war and held onto their mastership. It's one of the highest PvP achievements on the forum, perhaps comparable only with World Champion.

No. You still have your personal reputation power; it just isn't visible.
