Good point, the wording is ambiguous and the reason is mostly likely that there is just too much to say on the Shard of Freedom card.

It should probably be reworded as:

Yeah, the wording should either reflect that it is one-sided, unlike nightfall // eclipse, or it should behave globally like nightfall // eclipse.  It's inconsistent, although I'd never noticed that fact until yesterday.

Oh god no... the only way to get rid of that card right now is Deflag, Pulvy and Steal. If it affects both fields then Stall decks loose Steal as an effective means of dealing with it.   and there's too much of it in Arena these days anyway.

But having it affect both fields makes you having advantages if it too (in many decks), which lessens the advantage of actually playing SoFre.

Additionally, it would work against many unupped Monoairs in Silver in that the SoFree's would help you out more than them because you might be coming at it with upped creatures.
