I think search in general is broken on the forum. I just searched for a word that I was sure it's on the page and it said 0 results are found. Needs a fix.

No, just think about it. Upgraded creatures turn into upgraded skeletons, so upped skeletons wouldn't change even if they would die from hitting the skull shield. And even if they died, Nightfall would still affect them after they turned into themselves.

It won't kill skeletons in the first place, so there are no death effects. Think of it as similar to how boneyard ignores death effects caused by skeletons - there is nothing in the text of the cards that would imply it shouldn't work, but being able to continuously replace skeletons with more skeletons could cause a balance issue, so it doesn't happen.

Although there is a mark for each of the 12 elements, there is no non-elemental mark. In the 1.4 preview the Mark of Chroma was added, which, like the Quantum Pillar, produces 3 random quanta per turn. It looks like this:

Is he playing the scarab from his hand or is it being generated by a pharaoh? If it is being generated, all the anubises might be earlier in the attack order than the pharaoh, so the scarab wouldn't be on the board yet when the AI is deciding whether to use the anubis ability.
