Thanks for the response! I guess a follow up question would be when should I start score grinding? I have a lot of cards, a good number of rares, but very few upgraded cards. Do i start score grinding after i can upgrade several cards (i.e. having enough money to upgrade several cards)? Thanks again!

That's really up to you, depending on what you want to accomplish.  If you want to compete in Championship League, you need 20k.  If you want to boost yourself into the higher Arena leagues, you need score for the levels.

FWIW, I have never gone grinding for score.  I grind for electrum and cards, and the score just happens.

No. Score is based on how many opponents you beat and who you beat. If you beat ai3, your score will go up higher than if you beat ai2. If you beat someone in pvp with a high score, your score will go up higher than if you beat someone with a low score. It has nothing to do with your Electrum.

But it's still not "the total sum of Electrum accumulated ever." I just wanted to explain exactly how it works so he doesn't go thinking "my score went up by 200 but I only won 150 Electrum, what the heck" kind of stuff.

The gain is also not that similar. EM an Elder and you get 35 score and 40 electrum.

No, much more. The most of your electrum gain comes from selling cards, which especially messes up the score/electrum comparison. Selling an upped card results in around 1.1k electrum, whereas the match might've given 20-120 depending on the opponent, or much more if they got lucky in the Arena.

Nothing that you can win affects your score. Only EM does, and what rank the Arena deck had that you defeated (if applicable).

That's honestly only really true if you're playing something absurdly low win rate, i.e. fully or mostly unupped. Even then, it doesn't really happen that much anymore. It used to be a really big issue back in the liquid antimatter days, but firecell/LS/6-up rolhope don't usually appear to be a net score loss. In my testing, firecell is somewhere between break-even and several hundred net score gain per hour. Of course, there's no doubt that a bad luck streak can cause a net score loss, but I don't believe there's any recommended farming decks that have a net score loss on average right now.

If FGEI would hurry up and finish testing the cheap decks we'd know for sure.
