Presumably it was a stall/healing deck and the fire quanta was for removing all perm's.

Outdeckers need CC. I especially found Fire Buckler and Spine Carapace annoying. Anywho, when I got my first anti-T50 deck, speed poison with Physalia, I got into 130-ish poison before I won/lost. All of them used SoD+Miracle, but not always Stone Skin. Those that did were able to outheal me now and then. Fire Buckler was naturally catastrophic.

That's one reason I like the unstoppable for the new scorpions, especially deathstalkers since they add double the poison of physalias.  Unfortunately, I haven't found a way to make this kind of deck as fast as typical  decks, but it's still a lot of fun to play.

I've seen previous threads with ridiculous poison counters but many of them were against FG/HBs or were PvP games where both sides were playing precisely to maximize poison loads.

Yeah, it's essentially swapping one problem for another. In the end, you face more bone walls than fire shield/thorn carapace, so for the Physalia rush it's a lot better to have them be able to attack shields since you have Arsenic in that deck. Unstoppable is simply a perfect fit for Deathstalkers. :>
