7 card vs 8 card start

Is it just me, or did anyone else realize you get a different amount of cards depending if you go first or second?  I just realized, even though I've played hundreds of games, that you get 7 if you go first, 8 if you go second.  It makes sense.  The 8 cards help to offset the first move advantage, but I never noticed this.  Yeah, yeah, I'm slow but I'm usually multi-tasking so I've never noticed until now.

Depends on your deck and strategy and who you're playing against.  But for my AI3 grinding deck, I think I like going second more.  I can win more consistently in 5-6 turns when I go second with my Earth/Time deck instead of 6-7 turns if I go first.  But it's not much of a difference.
