Unofficial Tournaments

The amount of participants of the official tournaments have declined up to such an amount that there are barely enough participants for even a single tournament. Somehow, I don't think one would be able to find even 8 people to consistently participate in such a tournament. Especially since a lot of unfulfilled ideas are unbalanced and/or unfun for many people.

 August was never an active month for online games according to my personal experience, maybe that's why there are few people here. However, there is a possibility that the globabl financial crisis has stressed people a lot and they can't enjoy a free, fun, online card game anymore...

If the events are planned, are they really unofficial?

Has anyone tried to just ask people in chat if they'd like to do a quick pvp event? <-- That seems unofficial to me.

If the events are planned, are they really unofficial? If the planners aren't affiliated with any of the actual PvPO's or TO's, I would probably say yes. If a PvPO or TO takes interest simply for moderation/suggestion purposes, the event is still technically unofficial until it gets moved into the corresponding section, since the topics would still be user-maintained rather than staff-maintained. Just my 2 cents.

After a quick drop by in a chat, a few players suggested they disliked the idea of unofficial PvP events running at the moment due to lack of players in actual PvP events and tourneys. I think a thread for Unofficial Tourneys in the Duels section wouldn't be a bad idea, though. (If finding a day for everyone becomes a hassle, the events could take on a shorter version of a league instead.)
