After all the new cards in 1.27, which element now needs a new card the most? https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=22327.msg283604#msg283604

I know it's a bit premature but I just had a rather long and rich conversation on this subject with an extremely experienced player, and I was surprised to see that we had completely different viewpoints. I'm curious what the community thinks at this stage? I will refrain from writing my view in the OP so that I don't bias the poll.

Life has the least number of cards in the bazzar. More cards for Life!

Life and Death were voted for ... and I sort of agree. The one no one mentioned yet was Fire, which needs a new card too.

I voted Water (by far the element that needs a new card most) and Aether, which had its best card nerfed and a terrible card given to it in return. Really a new ability for Aether would be nice.

EDIT Ninja'd by a non-poster who chose Fire. Lol.

I've been playing since May and have not yet been around to see :fire get a new card, or even a significant card change. I'd like to see Fire get one or even two new cards. Aether is tied with Fire for fewest bazaar cards, too, so they could probably use another, even with Silence and Mindgate being added relatively recently. Definitely :fire though

EDIT: I think I disagree with death. Soul Catcher was a great addition recently, becoming the signature card in a new, fast, FG deck. Deathstalker was a fairly recent addition as well. Skull Shield and Skeleton also both got buffed in the last update. Skull Shield suddenly went from a garbage shield that might as well not have existed to one of (if not the single) best CC shields in the game. Cheap, and demolishes low to mid HP creatures. Plus, just quantity-wise, doesn't death have the *most* cards?

:fire and :water
call me biased (they are my two favorite elements), but it's true that fire and water haven't got new cards in a while now...
fire might do fine without a new card, but water NEEDS a new card or two...

I'd say while fire hasn't gotten anything new for a while, it really doesn't need much else as it is already not only one of the strongest elements, but also the most complete.  It has a good selection of creatures, including small, large, and growing ones.  It has permanent control, creature control, direct damage, and quanta generation.  It can be used very effectively as a mono deck for either stall or rush.  It also has strong synergies with other elements(especially aether and water) that make it useful in duo decks.  It has several cards which are cheap enough to be useful in rainbow decks.  How many other elements can you even come CLOSE to saying all that about?

Totally agree with the biased guy.

Also, maybe what the game needs is new strategies instead of just new cards. For example, new ways to use high hp, an indirect buff for flooding, new field affecting stuff (like flooding), and maybe new quanta generators.

Anyways, chose :fire because it needs more cards (although maybe Cremation deserves a nerf), and :water because it needs a buff.

air.
needs.
creatures.
We have 4 + 1 dragon + 1 nymph.

fire can pump out stuff with cremations, has two creatures with 7 attack and 5-7 cost, has explosions, do you guys really need any more stuff?

water has perma, a nice buff for squids, two creatures with 6 attack and 4-5 cost, congeals...

I'm voting  :aether and  :fire because from what I noticed, they have the fewest cards in the bazaar, so I think they should be the next two to be thought of on new cards first and just branch out from there. Just my own opinion though.

Air definitely could use another creature, but you are missing Animate Weapon + Owl's/Eagle's Eye in your creature list, which is probably Air's best creature. Air is actually the only true mono I like to run. I think individually it is one of, if not the single, strongest element. Two great shields, Owl's Eye, creature generation, Diving Wyrms/Sky Blitz... It's a versatile element. Definitely my favorite mono to play, so I don't think it's at the top of my list for needing a new card.

Fire is one of my other favorite elements, but the problem with Fire is not a strength issue, just a game issue. You could literally put *all* of Fire's cards into a deck, give it an Earth mark, and actually win games. You can mix and match any and all of its cards. There is almost no interesting strategy, because all of the cards are individually playable. Fire doesn't need a gamebreaking card, it just needs diversity. Fire is strong, certainly, although it has become slightly weaker as every other element has developed and diversified and it has stayed stagnant. It doesn't need a new card or two because it has gaping weaknesses, it needs a new card or two because it's kinda boring.

Personally, I think :light could do with some more. Their cards are all very solid, but they are lacking in some inventive or special ones that have double or multiple uses (think Rage Potion, BB, Aflatoxin)
There isn't anything that particularly stands out from the rest of the game in terms of interesting mechanics.

This is also partly present in :air, but that's probably just because I want it to have more cards.

:water and :time may not be the strongest, but they are defined and interesting. Vanilla cards for them, but bleh.

Edit: Was my 800th post. Felt the need to waste your time by publicly announcing it to /you/. Not anyone else who would be reading it, /you/.
