This is a project I wanted to do since... a very long time. Started after War#12, then got bored and only finished it right after War#13.

This was the deck used for testing:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6ts 6u6 6u6 6u6 6u6 6u6 6u6 6ua 6ua 6ua 6ua 6ua 6ua 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 717 717 717 717 717 717 71f 71f 71f 71f 71f 71f 8pn

Obviously there is space for improvement, but after starting the test didn't want to change the conditions. (For example you can play
a RoL Mito variant to create mutation fodder.)

And this was the defending deck:

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
77k 77k 77k 77k 77k 77k 78q 78q 78q 78q 78q 78q 78q 78q 78q 78q 7jo 7jo 7jo 7jo 7jo 7jo 7jo 7jo 7jo 7jo 7k2 7k2 7k2 7k2 7k2 7k2 7k6 7k6 7k6 7k6 7k6 7k6 7km 7km 7km 7km 7km 7km 7q9 7q9 7q9 7q9 7q9 7q9 8pq

Sadly, the AI is an idiot with Sundials, but usually it was able to buy enough time for me to spawn a lot of mutants
(56 sessions, 18 mutants on avg per session).

I had a recurring problem with my mutant-spawning deck: scavengers. Cats proc them, so I had to make extra screenshots
when they were created. (And not just at the end of the game as usual.) However there were quite a few times when I got really
numbed by the testing, forgot to make the screenshot, so I had to try and determine later how many procs happened. But comparing
the number of errors to the quantity of mutants I think all in all they are negligible.

Let's move on to numbers! The average ATT/HP is 5/6 for an improved mutant. That's pretty bad, I think - considering that normal mutation
creates 5/5 90% of the time. OK, you get a skill - whose usefulness is very situational. I still feel this spell is very underpowered.
You need a specific skill on a creature? You just play that specific creature and it is done. Solved the problem with 1 card. Here you need
2 cards: fodder and spell. (There are only a few exceptions: repeatable steal is brutal, deja vu skill is also works in a unique way here,
and this mitosis is way cheaper.)

If you like statistics, here is the full statistics.

Spoiler for Hidden:
(Sadly functions aren't copied from Excel, only numbers.)

Interesting which creatures are excluded from the pool.

Phase Dragon is allowed while Immortal is not. Probably a holdover from before Phase Dragon was immaterial, though not sure why immaterial is a problem.
The Salvagers were the most recently added so I assume he just forgot to include them.
Fate Egg and Chimera make sense, as do the Shards.
Scarab must be because of the N health.
Devonian Dragon is weird. Only thing I can think of is Mutation took the same creature list from Fate Egg, and Dev wasn't included in that because it was rare when the game first released. That's a pretty big stretch though.

Or maybe you just got Wyand level RNG, who knows.

Yep, it is pretty funny that because of that Phase Dragon mutants aren't immaterial (though they can be randomly assigned with that skill).

Fate Egg and Chimera make sense, as do the Shards.

Yet, the hatch skill exists on mutants... Shard of Focus could be easily a mutant, I see no problem with it. Integrity's absence is understandable.

;D The wiki mentions that a mutant cannot be Devonian Dragon.
