Hey look, why I only see me from Brazil here if we are in the top 10?
The others are afraid to post?

It's probably a language barrier thing since you guys speak mostly Portuguese.

You should start a Brazilian thread in the "Multilingual" section to lure in your fellow countrymen.

Btw.. as a huge Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fan I'd love to have more Brazilian players here. :)

Damn language problem. I always worry about my posts, I never know if I wrote something wrong...
Well, I'll try in the Multilingual board. Hope that they see it ^^

Pardon my sarcasm, but indeed, playing a game where English is not your first language and with no prior significant experience in English, is indeed very easy.

Perhaps I sound a little harsh, but given the fact that they may not understand English that well, will definitely have some difficulty understanding some of the concepts of the game from the get go. I highly don't think it is fair to judge them based on your opinions and baselines of how someone taught and fluent in English should play the game versus someone who isn't fluent in playing the game. They might understand some simple phrases, but I am unwilling to believe that they can decipher much of this forum easily. There are many more countries in Asia than just China, and I really can't stand western ignorance of how they keep assuming Asia = China, or China = Asia. Asia is more than just Chinese people, like how Europe is more than just Europeans.

I had to get that out of my heart. Sorry if I offended anyone.

On a lighter note, Elements has gone international! :D
I think we said Chinese here instead of Asians is because the site that was linked was written in Chinese, not Asian. :P

They know how to play the game decently well -- there is much strategy talk and False God (and Half-Blood) frustrations to be found. It's just that they don't have access to the best information (found here ;)). When all they have is the Wiki and each other, you don't get innovation like Nymphomania or PuppyChow's Entropy Rainbow and their personal variants quite so quickly.

Granted, they probably will end up following the same timeline in terms of deck evolution -- they're just much farther behind the official forums. Hopefully they'll get the memo that Heal is not worth using soon....

They should be able to understand English decently -- Hong Kong's education system incorporates English into its curriculum quite early, and that particular forum is geared to tech-savvy teens and young adults. We can safely say that they have the competency to understand the gameplay.

As for understanding everything that goes in these forums -- I wish them luck in understanding the inner workings of various False God grinders. :P They can always just follow the decklists verbatim and playtest to see exactly what they're supposed to do, I guess.

Maybe we could have the Newbie's Guide translated into multiple languages....

Actually, HK Golden (the site) is one of the most popular forums in Hong Kong. So I consider it Hong Kong-ish

Hong Kong is China (at least kinda). As for Laxaria, note that the OP is Taiwanese... not exactly "western", now is it?
Not that anyone had implied that it was Asia that was being referred to, before that post...

like how Europe is more than just Europeans.

Maybe I'm missing something here, but aren't all people native to Europe European? Sure you may have people from other places living there, but I don't think that's what you meant...

I'm glad people took some interest in this. Sorry if the flag I fly makes it unclear, but I am as white as they come and from California. I moved to Taiwan 3 years ago. If anyone else here is in Taiwan, I would like to say hey. Regarding the language barrier, I don't think it's as bad as we think. They can translate things and learn through trial and error. I teach here and I had kids in my class today (12yr olds) with a printed out counter strike (or some such fps game) forum that they translated by hand into Chinese and they had maps printed out and were discussing strategy. I can't type Chinese but I think it would be cool if we could extend an olive branch and welcome them into The elements forum. I used "The" because this is obviously the definitive place for info. I was also thinking, it would be interesting if there were people in the top50 who never heard of this site. Maybe we could let them know about farming top50. They could have some interesting ideas to add to the mix once they get caught up here.
