Not to be a jerk or anything, but for those who voted for Death, what were the reasons behind it?  Personally, I think Death is the weakest of the elements, and in my rainbow decks I always struggle to find anything at all from Death that I want to use.  In Supernova weenie decks I'll put in a Flesh Recluse or two, but that's about it.

That would depend on the types of rainbow you use, of course. Rushing decks won't use much other than recluses, but fallen druid+graveyard/aflatoxin...
I agree that death is mostly a supporting element, though.

do most people vote by the element's theme/nature or by how strong the cards are or how?  i am having trouble picking a favored element

I voted aether because Mindgate is so fun :p  I don't think aether is the strongest element, but there is just something so cool about taking your opponent's deck, making several copies of every card they draw, and then smashing their face with their own strategy.

If I were voting for the most powerful element, rather than my favourite, I'm not sure which I'd pick.  Time is very strong; Eternity and Hourglass are two of the best cards in the game.  Time also has one of the best nymphs and several quality creatures.  Gravity is very powerful as well, with lots of momentum, black hole, several forms of creature control, (gravity pull, otyugh) and one of the best shields (Gravity Shield) and far and away the best nymph in the game.  Entropy/Fire/Darkness (and pulverizer) can destroy permanents, and that alone makes them very strong.

Now that I am trying to decide, I'm not sure which element is the most powerful :p  I could point to a few that are at the bottom of the heap, but I can't decide which is the best element.

How else would I take that screenshot? The reverse doesn't work because the AI uses Rewind too early, and I wasn't about to grind Gold for hours just to find that exact Crusader deck again. Besides, we all know this is what the outcome would be anyway. =P

I'm amazed at how many people chose gravity. I personally chose gravity as my starting element, and its unique mechanics have an effect on the game that is consistently fun. As such, gravity.
