I voted for 3 unupped, 1 upped.
I am a big fan of restrictions and I wouldn't mind if there was a special rule in pretty much every tournament and sometimes - however often is up to the organiser - the special rule is that there are no restrictions.
I agree with this 100%
How about a teir system based on score? ie. your score needs to be below 1000 at the start of the tournement or something
I thought about this. It's a system we have with Leagues and it makes sense. However tournaments are still so small-scale that it's not wise to make the participation list even smaller. In the future we might have something like this.
I have agree with jmizzle I don´t see a reason really to change the current rotation. As it was said before there hasn´t really been a diffrence in Paticipation in all tourneys. For the special rules tournament I was thinking about starting a thread to collect ideas and make a list so everyone can see what the next special rules tournament will be long before it is played.
Instead of changing the rotations an idea would be to lose the rotation and add a third tournament each week. One tourney would be no restrictions another unupped and the third with special rules.
Look at the numbers. Unupped tournaments have had more participants. And you don't actually even have to look at the numbers, all you need is common sense.
When we have upped tournaments, newbies won't join.
When we have unupped tournaments, both newbies and veterans join.
There are many arguments for upped tournaments, but the "participation is the same" argument is the weakest possible argument and I really hope people would stop using it. We are talking about
potential and making the tournaments
bigger. And to achieve those, we need to make tournaments more accessible.
I don't think a 3rd tournament is needed at this point. Participation numbers are not even close to that, and also it would mean more work for Zanz who has to manually give out the rewards. Do we really want Zanz to spend more of his time giving out rare cards or cash to a
handful of players, or do we want him to design new cards that
tens of thousands of players can enjoy?
Looking at the results of the poll so far, it looks like the majority wants more unupped tournaments which is not surprising. Also keep in mind that on this forum we have many veterans. If we asked this same question from all the Elements players, I'm sure it would be a landslide victory for option 2.
