I wake up, dizzy. Where am I? I sit up, and look down to see a pouch on my lap. I open it and find a deck of cards. I shuffle through them, curious.

I immediately take a liking to the Water cards. I decide to trim the deck of Light and also remove a Chrysaora, not liking its ties with Death. I would've removed the other one as well, but it appears as if I cannot. No matter, I shall let it be for now.

I put the removed cards in the pouch and slide the deck into my pocket. I get up and start walking, hoping to find somebody. Almost immediately, I come across a small child. She notices me, then immediately pulls out her own deck of cards and throws out a few. Pillars of many colors sprouted out from the cards, and she looks at me expectantly. Almost instinctively, I know what to do. I take out my own deck and spike a few cards into the ground in front of me. A row of pillars made of water came up, along with a single Quantum Pillar.
I can feel the deck in my hands heating up, and I can almost hear the cards trying to get onto the battlefield. I finally relent, letting loose a huge Ice Dragon onto the child. A Blue Crawler follows suit, tearing at the child's health. More of the child's multicolored pillars come out. It seems as if that is all it can do.
But, right as I thought that, a Fallen Elf comes out and scratches me. It's a negligible wound, but I don't like the feeling. I summon some icy power and freeze it solid.
The child sends out some more creatures, but I freeze those as well. Meanwhile, my own army has been viciously attacking, and the child looks close to death. But I feel no mercy and let my creatures continue.
In a last feeble attempt, the child tries poisoning my dragon, but it's too late. I walk over, a bolt of ice in hand, and finish her. I look through her belongings, but all she has is a measly coin.
After some more journeying, I stumble across somebody around the same age as me. He looks at me, then pulls out his deck of cards. I sigh. It seems as if all people do here is fight. I guess I won't be getting any answers from him either. I proceed to brutally murdering him as well. I'm starting to like my icy powers.
But, that kid only had two coins. It seems as if I won't be getting money or answers.
The third person I pass is a fat old man who has a ring of elements floating around him. He doesn't seem to want to fight. Instead, he gives me an Amethyst Pillar, a few coins, and a fortune. It also seems as if he has given me a Toadfish to aid in future battles. Strange fellow, but I accept the gifts.
And then I found another person.
This time, it's a fully grown man, and he immediately gets out Obsidian and Water Pillars. He gets out a Devourer and starts freezing my forces.
I smile. This might actually be a challenge then.
He immediately follows with a crowd of Chrysaora and Fire Spirits, while I counter with a Blue Crawler. His Fire Spirit was starting to get rather large, and that's when I was forced to hide behind my icy shield. The spirit froze, and I had some breathing space.
But the man wouldn't let that last long. He started fighting with a small Dagger, slicing at my shield.
I thought it was rather pitiful, but he suddenly backs up and reveals that he was a distraction, allowing him to summon a Crimson Dragon and Ash Eater without me noticing. Thankfully, the dragon's claw hit a particular icy patch on my shield, and the ice traveled up its arm and froze it solid. My Toadfish then proceeded to inflate, poisoning the frozen creature.
I manage to get up close, but then a Fire Shield comes into play, and my Toadfish succumbs to the heat. While I'm distracted by that, the man steals my own icy shield, turning my own power against me. I curse under my breath, then form a bolt of ice in each hand and kill the man. It was close, but I won.
.. The man had 7 coins.
I decide to rest for the day. I'll pick up trying to figure out where I am tomorrow.
