..Also, because I removed ALL of the shields, the field full of Malignant Cells did a lot of damage on it's own.  So, with one shield added back in, may I present my Gemini-specific variant ...

I hung on with 3hp to win with this deck. Permafrost was very late in the deck and I was only fortunate to have drawn all antimatters and shards to survive - maybe add a second shield? It'd allow you to confidently early afla-flood more often - even two tower shields would probably suffice.

If you're going to add a second shield, given the quanta distribution, Diamond Shield is the obvious choice.

Love this version. Been running it three times now, and every time I've had problems with getting Steals too late (not a single loss, but games taking up to 23 turns). I have too much :entropy, so I'm going to replace a pillar with a Steal.

needs some more decks that work well specifcally against Gemini

No rares or upgraded cards (Steals are for his electrocutors)
Make sure to keep enough healing on the table to counter his immortal creatures

Lost quickly. Gemini got Electrocuter out on the second turn while I had no steals. My nymphs were all lobotomized and useless.

Yeah, that's why you need at least 3 steals, if not 4.

Does the deck really need 6 tears? I'm not sure it does. I ran :

Deck import code : [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5i4 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5ig 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 5uk 6rq 6rq 6rq 6rq 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 6ve 7t9 7t9 8pp

SOR are a huge help in this deck, especially for the purple nymphs.

EM for the first time I played this variant. Sketchy start, though, as Gemini's electrocutor came out early and I had to wait for a steal. I would echo what others have said and put in a third steal. In my case, will try -1 AP and +1 steal

So, would the OP deck work better with one less tear and one more steal?

I'm sure those SoR's are very usefull, but 4 is a bit to much imo. I'd go with 3 steals and 3 SoR as a first change.

I could see that 3 SoR's is better.

What about my suggestion of dropping one tear? At 5 tears, the odds of drawing one is 1/6. On average, you'll have it in your starting hand or at least by the time you've generated 7 water, no?

Assuming you go first, the chance to draw a Tears in hand is at 76%. You may drop one Tear, but it's frankly an unnecessary risk. The more you have, the more consistently will you draw them earlier. On that topic, draw chance is exactly why I don't like SoR's. Having to draw a combo reduces the consistency of a counter deck and in this case will inevitably lead to more total losses over a time span.

I made the classic (stupid) mistake this morning of not changing my mark, so I'm reposting Hig's extra steal version so I don't make that mistake again:

Hightly bored about dark/entropy decks using the antimated vampire style ... i did my own deck to beat Gemini :

my deck work cause of Mindgate.

Hover over cards for details, click for permalink
Deck import code : [Select]
4vc 4vc 4vc 4vo 500 61t 61t 61t 61t 621 623 623 623 624 624 624 6rn 6rn 6rn 6rq 6tu 6tu 6u8 808 808 808 808 80d 80d 80h 81q 81q 81q 81q 8pj
i just made 1 game vs gemini and I won Gemini :
- i was destroying shields and electrocutors.
- i was Mindgating his deck for pick extra aether quantum generation, for pick damages from creatures, etc.
- Gemini PU my abo who has destroy.
- i won without using silences, without the yellow shard, and without quintessences. So maybe 6 useless cards in my present deck ^^

(mostly) unuped version if you want to try with :
- maybe without green shard it'll be hard.
- unuppeds aether quantum generators can kill you ; aether quanta is the key here ; with AEquanta you can draw more AEquanta from Gemini's deck and then more phase shields, more damages, more everything.
