I wish to add my thanks to willng3's for the generous players who set up T50 farm decks.  The road to surmounting AI6 is a long and difficult one.  The farm victories and occasional spoils give the aspiring Elements master little nudges and encouragement.

Now I don't have much time to read all the posts before I reply, but I see many people think that "lowering upgrade cost = shorten play time". This is of course true, but please think: for a casual gamer, if you want 14 upped pillars in every element, that might already cost you a year or two. The problem is the current playing speed of the majority of the players can't even catch up with the game's update speed! Even if there is one day that having every cards upped is considered to be easy, you can still try out a lots of decks in game play, to keep the interest of playing.

People, this is just a game. Please get a life. In my opinion this game is in exponential growth. It is hard to catch up, and that's why we quit.
TIME is around us. It flows silently, trying to take everything away from us.

It may be hard to catch up but that doesn't mean I quit.

Lot of people grind just to get upgrades, but a lot of people play because they enjoy the deck building and exploring new cards.  I sometimes wonder if people would play more if they had access to more cards.  Grinding to up pillars is a bit time consuming and there are a lot of elements cards to be upgraded anyway with new cards being added.  Players seem to like new options and upgrading cards gives them new options.  High upgrade costs seem to reduce options.   I wonder if people would play more if upgrades cost less, so I'm putting it to a poll to find out.
Yes.  ;D

I like the high prices.

I think the cost should not be lowered because when it is at 1500 it is like we have to earn each and every card upgrade and that increases its value. Also, it encourages us to make strategic decisions while planning which card to upgrade first and thats the whole fun in it. Lowering its costs would ruin the fun of the game.

Lots of people have gotten 500 score, then left the game because they are not addicted enough to go and play (Assuming they EM, since they gave me a lot of good AI3 farmers, and one of them {my friend} plays a Shrieker rush with some life pendulums and a few heals) 37.5 games to upgrade one card. Sure, they've upped 2 or 3, but left after that. (Then they gave me their accounts w00t! :P )

Most people would move to another game after this anyway, we need some way to spend our free time. :(
If we couldn't upgrade our cards, you're taking away one of the biggest reasons for people to grind here. I personally think that deck are built on a somewhat eureka moment, if elements was all about building decks everyone would leave. We have a trainer anyway for that purpose. o.0

Mmm I wrote too much again. What i basically want to say is that if you take away the high cost you're taking away a big reason for us to grind.

There are 2 main things you have to decide before doing any change...

1. For the current player that already upgraded their pillars and shit - If I am one of them, (I already upgraded 13 pillars....) I will not feel good, since the price suddenly drop down, and all efforts I put in would become useless.

2. For the new players that are dying to upgrade their cards - For me and my newbie room m8, most time we spend on this game is endless grinding...for PILLARS... however, the current grinding speed is ok, everyday, you can upgrade around 5-10 cards, depends on the time you spend in. From 0 to a FG slayer deck, it takes around 1 hr only, once you can kill FG, especially the easy ones, each card win  = one upgrade. And, one facts about human...sometimes people DO LOVE grinding...

Personally, I do agree half of it, change the price, however, not reduce card upgrading cost. If a change has to be made, I prefer a card ranking system, so that different cards costs differently to upgrade depending on their rank. For example, weapons costs 2k or sth to upgrade, creatures costs 1.5k - 3k depending on their popularity/rareness/power
and Pillars... I do hope to get a reduced price, say 1k for pillars...

But, it's just an idea, I personally believe that the current Elements are more than expected~  THANK YOU FOR THE CREATOR!!!

Maybe if you really wanna spend time on thinking this, I'd prefer to think about new cards. For example, something to destory Opponent's hand~ Or, steal a creature. And also, I'd like to know something to keep us attracted in the game, such as new playing style, or even a 2v2 play, or other, and easy accessible, by just couple clicks, since I found out that once you got everything... It become boring.

i don't understand why 1500 is the only fun number. i just don't get it. the only reason to play the game is just to grind to exactly 1500? 1499? absolutely no fun. when i buy a video game on sale, paying less for it makes playing that game absolutely no fun. if they lowered the price on juice, i'd stop drinking it. if more expensive upgrades is what makes the game fun, they should just raise the price to 1.5 million. thats 1000 times the fun!

sorry about the sarcasm :D

i don't think lowering the cost of upgrades would necessarily suck all the fun out of the game. i mean, people played before there were even upgrades in the first place. if they lower the prices, you're not losing anything. you payed good money to have those upgrades first.

besides, grinding for upgrades is not the only thing to do on this game. testing new decks in an ever changing and unpredictable pvp enviroment is where the real challenge is and as long as new cards keep coming out, there will always be new decks and new challenges to look forward to.

anyway, i like the idea of adding a rating system strictly for pvp. it would give you a place to go (or if you're on top, a place to defend) after grinding for those upgrades. they should also raise the reward for those willing to brave this potentially deadly enviroment.

It would be hard to implement, but...

What if we reset all people's upgrade costs to 1000, then add 100 per upgrade? Therefore the stronger you would get, the harder it would be. Veterans would take longer, while newbies would take the same time... Of course, veterans farm quicker so that might not change anything...

I like the idea of scaleing to cost somewhat, maybe maybe make it do as you suggest then cap at 1500, if there was no cap then it would penalize people for not being really effectual with their upgrades. By just doing that, it would save you enough for another upgrade.
