Changing how the "Reset Account" works https://elementscommunity.org/forum/index.php?topic=12879.msg163327#msg163327

hi to all!!

i was wondering what if we change the option "Reset Account" on how it works..

i suggested this because just last 3 weeks ago, i got a complaint from a friend of mine.
he just left on the computer shop to buy some food with his account logged on.
when he came back, he saw that his account was reset. He was so furious about it because he olredi has 15k points. Beacuse of that, he ended up quitting.

i suggest that instead of typing "DELETE", why not type your own password instead?
although i know its my friend's fault, i just want to help him...

that's all, and feel free to comment..  ;D

This is like changing how dropping works in a MMORPG, because a cat jumped on somebody's keyboard, dropping and losing all their items. The thing is, it's not that bad. If you care so much about your account then, for God's sake, close the damn browser! It's not too hard.

By the way, he already lost his account, there's nothing you can do to help him now.

This could (In theory) be a problem for the players on Kongregate who never use a password as their accounts are linked. However, I don't know how many people this would apply to.

Your system otherwise would be a better system. But honestly, this has never really been considered a major problem before, so I doubt it will be very high on the list of priorities.

Actually, it's worse than that.  On kong, because of that password problem, your account info is easily accessible.  So if you leave it up on kong, you can lose your username and password.  I still agree with this, it's a standard for reseting/deleting accounts for a reason.  'It's your fault' isn't a good reason to not.   It's your fault if you stick your hand in whirring blades and lose it, but the blades should still be covered.

This is the thing that I want to emphasize.. Although it is not very hard to close that browser, the fact that it is also very easy to reset that account is still the point of this thread.. thanks Amilir for the emphasis...

another thing is if you have problems logging Elements on any browser, your only option is Kongregate, which is I think a faster way of logging in to Elements. This is also another factor I am looking for about this suggestion.
