That's true.  However, while both the Tower and the upgraded Parallel Universe will net you 1 q, the Universe will deal damage to your enemy or perform some other kind of effect, something the Tower can't do.

Also, if cost is disconnected from card power for normal cards, then why shouldn't they also be disconnected for upgraded cards?

@Mikhail

When you beat a god and win a card, sell it for 1100-1300 coins. You also gain 120 gold for each mastery victory (most victories against gods are masteries with my rainbow deck). If you really think the path of upgrades is through lvl 3 grinding... good luck.

Also, the advantage for upgrading towers is HUGE.

Clearly you are mistaken, farming gods is quite viable (and fun). But I won't insist with you, do whatever you want to.

If you intend to farm lvl 3 you should aim for masteries, only masteries. Its quite trivial to obtain them and every 40 wins you get your card.

There has to be a better way though. The amount of time you spend as a new player to earn your first upgrade feels vindicated at first. Then when you realise you're going to have to pull that off at least 10 more times before your deck even starts to be competitive. It's a bit daunting, and a bit much more like work to deck-grind that much to get anywhere at all.

The high cost is for grinders. Gaining 20-30 but even 40-60 in case of mastery win is crap if ONE SINGLE UPGRADE costs 1500 coins.

I could agree if those upgraded cards would be AWESOMEly better than regular ones, but they are not SO better. Many times they are only the underpriced version of the original card, that could be great if you want to play that card in the first few turns, but it's quite useless in mid and end-game.

Who cares if improved steal costs 1 quantum less than steal?!? Shoud I pay 1500 coins for ONE FREAKING MANA?!? Are we crazy or what?!?  ??? ??? ???

I've only improved Vampire Stiletto to Vampire Dagger, only because its effectiveness is DOUBLED. I'm currently looking for another card to upgrade and i don't see anything that would justify this odd price. Maybe Towers, but unless you have a good number of them, their impact on the game will be very very very little.

Once more, we are talking about paying 1500 coins only to get ONE mana more, UNA TANTUM. If those Towers would grant 2 mana per turn, they would be cost-effective, but they are NOT.

The upgrading system is grinder's dream, but i don't want to play SIX/SEVEN HUNDRED matches only to get ONE DAMN CARD upgraded, AND to see this "fabolous" upgraded card not having a significant role in the game.

Those costs are ridicolously high.

You lose 30 coins for every loss against a false god.

Trying to beat one of them with no upgraded cards is almost impossible, and you will lose tons of coins trying to win. Good luck.

So, you HAVE to grind the level 3 AI to get some upgraded card to have a chance to beat a god.

Challenge a god without any upgraded card is pretty hard. Every anti-god deck i see is full of upgraded cards.

Also, do you lose coins if you lose against gods?

New players wouldn't.  I mean I've been playing this game for a few weeks now and I only have cards for a few good Darkness decks and barebones decks for Life, Death, and Fire.  And I have NO upgraded cards.

I'm not saying that people shouldn't have to work for upgraded cards.  I'm saying that, as they currently stand, it's far too prohibitive to players to get a deck full of upgraded cards.

I was wondering why it costs 1,500 electrum to upgrade a single card?  I personally don't like the system and would like to offer some alternatives, but before I do I'd like to know the reasoning behind it.
that would make the game easier but then everyone will have upgraded decks which doesn't realy make sense.
Most people who have played for a long time do anyway, and would poosibly get a bit upset if upgrades became easier to get...apart from me, who's been playing scince v0.2, possibly 3, but only has 1 upgrade. Mind you, that was after I reset my account, and it only took about 2 days to get, playing for a 2-4 hours/day.

My stats:
score: 7374
games won: 234
games lost: 224
deck size: 60
cards upgraded:19

See? With less than 500 games I already have a 50% statistic, mostly playing against gods.

I strongly suggest you stop posting in 200 threads on the forum and go make your super god-killing deck-of-glory :D

Any rainbow-otyugh deck with armor/blessing will work against Incarnate, Miracle and Fire Queen even unupgraded.

For example, something that I started with:

Mark of gravity.

20 x Quantum Pillars
6 x Otyugh
3 x Nature Bond
3 x Boneyards
4 x Dim Shields
2 x Bless
2 x Armor
2 x Fallen Elf
2 x Hourglass
6 x Steal

50 cards total.

Add any 6 that you love and 4 more pillars and you have starter god killing deck.
Throw in 6 sundials and 4 pillars and you will be able to kill Morte, Gemini and probably Hermes.

You can check my deck here:
http://elementstheforum.smfforfree3.com/index.php/topic,148.0/topicseen.html
It will work unupgraded if you put Bless/Armor instead of something.
If you manage to upgrade otyughs - remove Bless/Armors and kill, grind, kill :)

Also there are somewhere ULTIMATE False Gods killing deck, it will work unupgraded as well.

Just try, god farming worth it.
