Thudstone is a permanent that sits in your permanent slot at the start of every game. It's more of a stack of ten pillars of some sort. You can use them as the "Hasten" ability: Sacrifice one to draw a card, one use per turn.

This'd allow for more deck size and more variety. To compensate, if someone wants to run something even huger and with multiple hourglasses on top of this Hasten, the maximum deck size could be increased to 80, and some quanta gain speeders for all elements could be added, or so.

I'm sorry, let me repeat what I think you are saying.  You start with 10 special pillars that you can discard to draw another card instead?

Yes, they're on field from the start and don't give quanta.

Basically to balance out the "carddraw in this game is so attrited" and give possiblities of larger, more varied deck without them being as clumsy.

I dislike that idea. Good idea for idea sake, but otherwise, I think it'd just hurt gameplay making it either too easy or just too cheap. Especially for those with really small decks. With the right draws they could get most of their deck out on just the first couple turns.

I actually like this idea, but 10 seemed to be a bit too much.

Remember those generic, non-mark, non-elemental "special abilities" SG suggested? This could be a special ability to draw more times.

Or, maybe this can be turned into a card:

Thudstone: Permanent (2 Earth)
Create 7 Thudstones. One Thudstone may be sacrificed per turn to draw an extra card.
If a permanent destruction card hits Thudstone, only one Thudstone is destroyed.
To be or not to be, I can do both at once. Go learn quantum mechanics, n00b.

This seems about right. Of course, if you make it a regular card, it's utterly useless at the back of the deck. Good idea, though. It should be a Rare.

Nonono, BS. This is meant to be:

1. Generic
2. Free
3. Carddraw
4. Available from the very start

But if 10 is too much, then maybe 6?

I just really dislike this idea. Maybe as a card that you can play, then maybe. But from the start?  it changes the way cards are drawn. One card per turn unless you can get a card out that gives you the ability to draw more. But from the very start, seems like it would dampen game play.

"1. Generic
2. Free

4. Available from the very start"

Available from the start is only viable if Thudstone is either very expensive or very rare. Think about it: if it is 'generic', then basically everyone will have a Thudstone because there isn't really a bad side to it. With everyone having a Thudstone, the basic structure of the beginning of the game would crumble. I think the Thudstone, if it is created, should be rare. Available from the start? Meh, sure. But only if it's hard to obtain.

Making something rare or expensive does not balance it.

There would be no reason not to include this in every deck you build.

This is horribly broken and fundamentally a bad idea.

I would like this idea better if it was maybe only usable 5 times and was a rare. That way it'd add more alternatives to drawing extra cards, without being too OP or anything. But still make it cost, maybe just one random quanta to use, something like that.

It's basically an hourglass for 10 turns that's generic and is free to hasten. Doesn't seem OP to me.
